Just a heads up on a review that will come in the next few weeks.. today I found (and bought) a lip sunscreen. I have been wanting one that is not a balm as such, but would still be nice on the lips (looking for something matt). If this product does what it says, then I may have found it. It is from Orbis (the Avon of Japan).. it was only cheap 1008 yen (um, about US$8.90) and is SPF20/PA+ so figured, what the heck.
It is supposed to be a "dry" feeling UV balm that is not thick or "slippery" - it is to be used on its own or under lipstick. It comes in a regular long-wind up lipstick tube
I have a full list of ingredients, but most stuff is in Katakana (Japanese phonetic alphabet used for foreign words) so I have NO idea how to spell the stuff in English... I tried running the ones I did not know through a translation software, but even that came up with some really ODD things. But anyway, here is the list...
(full ingredients) Torioctanoin (??), Microcrystaline wax (hydroxy stearic acid/isostearic acid), Gepentaerisritil (??), squalane, octane cetyl acid (?), polyethylene, Toriisostearin (Capril/caprin/myristin/stearic acid), Toriglyceril, paraffin, titania, zinc oxide, Seskiiso stearic acid sorbitan, hyaluronic acid Na, rosemary extract, honey, Glycerlretin (?) acid stearyl, orizanol, glycerin, tocopherol, BG, methylmethacrylate crossing Polymer, Meticon, dimethicone/Meticoncoporimar, water silica, and hydroxide Al, iron oxide
So I am curious, has anyone actually tried it before? Mine arrives on Sunday! |

Hi tigertim,
i would love to hear an update on this product. i have been trying to find a good lip balm with spf forever. i recently ordered the badger balm lip spf and it was a nightmare--all WHITE on my lips and incredibly hard to remove. elizabeth arden makes an ok spf lip treatment but i don't like the pure chemical filters it uses. right now, i don't have an spf lip balm but an spf lip gloss--Shiseido 3D Water in Lip UV SPF 12 Lip Gloss Natural. it's ok but i prefer a balm like product. keep us posted ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

Will do, I think it said something about "no white blobs" .. so it does sound promising. Hope it turns out to be a good find! |

Looking forward to the review! Have you tried the Dr Hauschka SPF30 lip/nose/ears sunblock stick? It's lipbalm tube sized. It does feel a bit waxy but makes a good base for lippie or lipgloss. |
