Can someone clarify the different strengths of Retin A creams available?

I have been using Renova but want something a bit stronger...

Thanks

The strengths are .025%, .05% and .01%

Currently I use .05% Retin-A. I have read that Retin-A is not stronger than Renova but since Renova is in a cream base some feel that Retin-A works better because it is not mixed in with a cream. On the other hand it can be harsher than Renova for this same reason. Maybe .025% Retin-A would be good to start with to see how your skin tolerates it also then you have higher strengths to work up to.

So far Renova only comes in the .05 & .02 strengths. I used it for years and had to stop as it made my Rosacea worse.

I used a Retin-A .05% and I know that they definitely work however, I do want to try the .1% and see the difference.

On a side note, does it matter which brand/maker I buy my Retin-A from? I'm just curious to know if there is a difference or are they all the same?

I googled it and a bunch of websites were found.

I have been warned by a couple of people that some sites might not be the real thing. You just have to be careful, I guess.

Is there a doctor that you can ask about the Renova/Retin-A % question?

I used Retin A .025 for about six months -- my skin reacted well to it and showed none of the negative side effects other people talk about (redness/flakiness/peeling), so I thought I could handle more. I upped to the .1 percent and noticed less subtle results...I wouldn't call them "dramatic" but I notice my skin getting smoother and my acne disappearing more than I did with the .025.

I assume you're using Renova for anti-aging, though? Because I have to say that the Retin A's (even the .1 percent)'s effect on anti-aging haven't been too noticeable. I think I do see some very MILD softening of some fine lines but for me the most positive results have been the smoother skin texture and acne elimination.
