I tried Yonka - and it did work - but now i use Decleor Ylang Ylang balm and arromesence oil - and even though i did not think it would make any difference - it did.
But you need to look at your diet as well - drink lots of water - which i am sure you read everywhere and persevere with the treatment - don't expect overnight miracles.
I find it hard to be very patient by using too many products - but i stick to ylang ylang.
I too have had problems with healing of scars - it just takes time - i suffered from severe acne for over 10 years from the age of 16 and now i get a breakout at the time of the month......although the ylang ylang does help alot.

Whenever I break out i'm left with dark marks aswell that just stay. I've been using the Juice Beauty Peel aswell, but not for long enough to see how wffective it will be in reducing the marks. Ever since i've changed my regime I've been breaking out less which of course has helped, no new marks, but it's the summer and I tend to break out more in winter.
I heard that taking a good zinc supplement can help with healing, and of course having a good diet.
Aminogenesis Photolagen is also a great product to use, has never made me break out and my marks seem less noticeable, but it hasn't produced a dramatic lightening effect. Your skin sounds similar to mine, in terms of colouring and I've noticed that I never heal well, even little cuts turn into keloid scars for. I'm planning on having IPL or something similar to get rid of the remainder of marks on my face, but i'm sure other people on the forum may have some other suggestions of suitable products. |

I went through one bottle/tube of the Neutrogena Acne Mark Fading Peel and it did NOTHING for me. And the smell is awful! |

I would recommend organic Rosehip Oil to be used as a facial oil to help lighten the scars and blemishes you have as well as help prevent new ones. I would also continue to use the JB Green Apple Peel as I have seen great results from that myself. Another good idea is to take a dietary supplement like Evening Primrose Oil which is high in GLAs as it helps with hormonal balancing as well as skin restoration and cell renewal. I also agree with the Zinc supplement suggestion as well and would add a multi B vitamin supplement also to help speed along the healing process. |

After using Clarins One Step Gentle Exfoliater, my post breakout marks are fading fast. Also Decleor's Ylang Yalng balm works too for me. And I also second the JB Green Apple Peel, unfortunately I can't leave it on longer than 10 minutes then my skin turns redish. |

I guess you just have to take everyone's advice here with a grain of salt and see what works for you personally...
But I think that more "hardcore" methods are needed to actually have results with acne scars. In addition to some pitted scars, I had red and brown marks that I was not happy about.
I started getting glycolic (AHA) peels from a professional esthetician and it improved the texture a lot, but I wasn't happy with the variable side effects -- i.e. occasional scabbing/extreme dryness.
So... I switched to (professional) microdermabrasion. And after 5 sessions I do have to say that I've seen improvements with my skin texture and a fading of scars. It's not all gone and my skin is not perfect, but it's better than it's been in years.
Of course these methods are a hassle, and pricey, but I was ready to make the investment in my skin. You just have to decide what's right for you. |

I've used Neutrogena's Acne Mark Fading Peel a few months ago, but I didn't notice any improvement with it. However, thanks everyone for the suggestions!! :] |
I had the same results. It didn't do anything bad but it just didn't make a difference. |

My face broke out really bad after I started using Obagi, and the Tretinoin would dry it out so it was scabby/flakey (yuck, sorry!) and I didn't leave it alone, so it left some scars. I bought a sample of the PSF O2 Serum and used that twice a day for about two and half days and then started using 2 drops of jojoba oil and 1 drop of ylang ylang oil at night before the Tretinoin. I don't know what did it, but the next morning, I was AMAZED at how faded the scars were.
I would get samples of all the things you're interested in and spread them out over a good period of time before you invest in a lot of things that may not work. |

I used to have the same problem, but my condition improved after i use La Prairie Cellular Purifying Systeme Hydra Repair. I use this at night and the next day my face is clearer and it helped to heal the blemishes too. |

Over time you'll probably see the marks fade, but of course this may take years.
When I first used the Juice Beauty Apple Peel my skin tingled for the whole period of time it was on. Now there is definately a reduction in my amount of tingling and redness I get, but it still seems to be as effective. I don't know if it makes any difference if you use a toner or anything before you apply it. Anyhow I think the thing is just to be patient, because no product really will produce instant results, it's usually a very gradual process.
Karina, I am definately planning on getting some sort of treatment. Hard to know where the best place to go to in the UK though. There is a lack of cosmetic dermatologists and not sure if i'd want to go to one of the big clinics.Like to go for at least a consult in the next couple of months though. Let you know what happens. |

Thanks Sel
I must admit - when i was going through the acne faze - i was too busy trying to try out different products and not giving them a chance to work - i think that is where i went wrong - now i stick to one brand - Decleor - and my skin has calmed down.

make sure to use a good sunscreen with any type of peel products, as your scars cab actually darken if you don't. |

I'm not sure where you are located, but I also went through the same thing for the pst 6 months. Lived in Russia this year, the water killed my skin had numerous outbreaks of acne, cystic ones too. As soon as I returned to Toronto I headed to my friend's facialist that cleared her skin up. After one visit I had DRAMATIC results. My face was still quite raw with acne so it was hard to see the scars. Within 4 days the acne was gone and I could see the scars. ugh! I have since visited 2 more times and the scars are slowly fading. She did a microdermabrasion, some light therapy and 2 masks. She also gave me some of her 'potion' to put on my face twice a day after cleansing. This potion is mainly ginseng and some other stuff. It even gets rid of the occasional zit I normally got in the past. 2 more times I am to go and all the scars should be totally gone. they are just faintly there now. She is from Vietnam and knows her stuff. After living in Asia for over 3 years I erally think they have a better grasp on skin care then we do. I dont have the name of the clinic off hand but if anyone wants it just message me! |

Not sure if this is off topic, but ever since I've been using b/c pills my hormones have been out of whack and my acne scars are left, well dark patches that is. Taking calcium d-glucarate have helped dramatically since it helps balance out me out when I'm effected by the b/c. |
