Where did you get your kit from? What % is it?
I've purchase from MUAC before. Basically you cleanse with a non-soap cleanser and apply w/qtips. Soon as it starts to frost or 5 minutes which ever comes fist (it does not always frost) you apply neutralizing solution (baking soda and water, I find this stings quite a bit).
After the peel, cleanse again and apply something like polysporin for the next 48 hours.
Depending on the % you used you could peel for about 7-10 days. Peeling usually starts at day 3.
Don't forget to do a test patch first. |

Yikes, you better be careful, you could have a high % of TCA on your hands there. Some companies sell high %'s and you adjust the % your self but you would need know how much water to add. I would not use this until I get the real directions, I would contact the company again. |

the standard % they use in clinics is 20-25%. i have never had a professional PCA peel, only done them myself as you are. i would NEVER use anything approaching the strength they use in the clinics. the 1st i did it i was nervous and only used 8%. now, a year later, i've worked myself-up to feeling very safe using two layers of 8% which makes it a 10% peel. at this point i would feel safe dong a 12% peel and maybe even two layers of 12% as that would give me a 14% (when layering, from what i understand, the second layer is 1/4 strength of original application). if you have 50% and have no experience, i would add 4x distilled water. at that point you'd be working with 12.5%. i also don't suggest using the baking soda neutralizing solution as the nice thing about TCA is that it neutralizes itself after 5 minutes. the baking soda REALLY sings why irritate your poor skin any more than necessary? follow w/neosporin or some antibacterial ointment if you want (w/such a light peel lts probably not necessary, but i've fountt that anything w/a petrolatum base helps the discomfort of the peel A LOT. it's unfortunate that your package didn't come w/a proper soap; mine came w/a "green tea" soap that i use before and through-out the duration of the peel. also, in addition to a petrolatum based product (i use generic aquaphor) i find using hat/warm water soaked compresses on my face helps ease the discomfort A LOT.
good luck! and be careful. i think it's unethical that they event sent you a chemical level so high.
let us know how it turns out. |
