I've noticed that since I've been wearing the Shiseido SPF 55+ Lotion in February, my face has puffed out. My cheeks got chipmunk-y, my nose widened, my lips got way too Angelina Jolie-ish (it was extremely bubbly lips). Whenever I washed my face at night my face didn't seem so bloated. Today, I wore a Prescriptives Anti-Age SPF 25 sunscreen and I'm not bloated-looking. My nose and lips and eyes returning to normal. Could it be something in Shiseido that I'm allergic to?

I also wore Cellex-C with Hydra 5B but stopped wearing it last week. Not sure if this can cause it too.

I've also tried LRP Lait SPF 50+ and I looked fine with it but hard to tell b/c I don't wear it as often as Shiseido. Maybe like once a month or so.

What do you all think? Ever experience this kind of allergic reaction to something topical?

It really does sound like an allergic reaction. It is something that I have experienced before. It is not that an uncommon for me to experience swelling if I am allergic to an ingredient. Most of the time it is very minor and almost not noticable but once in a while it does sound like what you just described.

I would think that the Shiseido would be a more likely culprit but it is also possible that the Cellex-C could be responsible.

Thanks TheresaL!

Glad to know that I'm not the only one getting edema from a skin product. With oily skin like mine I thought it would be resilient to anything. Not sure if it's because I'm not in my teens anymore, living in allergy intensive Austin, or something else.

I agree with Theresa. It sounds like an allergy problem. I guess you will have to test which product it is that you are allergic to.

Good luck.
