I agree with you. It has a very nice texture and it does not break me out. It's overpriced, but it would not stop me from buying it because it is perfect to carry in your purse. It does not rub off your hands onto your purse handle or anything like that.
I can't say if the quality of the sun protection is good. I am not good at reading ingredients.

It is similar to ZO's sunscreen

in not available in Canada just in case anyone is interested. We have the SPF 50 that Chanel came out with last year - gave me boils - so I called and asked.

This product didnt' work for me. I have really sensitive skin that have boils when I put on the wrong sunscreen. I use the La Mer spf fluid now. I don't break out with that one.

The original SPF 18 or the new - not available in Canada until July 2010 - SPF 30? I use the SPF 18 but am very afraid I will not be able to use the SPF 30 due to the ingredients change. I would be happier with SPF 30, but not if I break out in a rash. I fully expect that I would have a problem with the Chanel SPF 30, but I am always willing to try anything as I am very fair and need sunblock. It is so very hard for me to find one - and I also need one that does not dry to a "dry matte" finish that makes it difficult for me to spread my oil-based foundtion. I am worried that La Mer will discontinue the SPF 18. I have 1/2 a tube on the go and one in the bin as backup. Will buy a new back-up shortly - just wish they would date them. I do not believe the story that the sunscreen lasts forever if not opened.

I regret buying the white essentiel SPF primer from Chanel, it's expensive and it doesn't work too well in keeping the oilies in control. The SPF is also not high enough for summer.

I'm really imperssed at the ingredients of this product. The amount of ZnO they use there is super high, approximate 19%!!! Unbelievable
