I have oily acne prone skin and I like to use Epsom Salt with whatever cleanser I'm using at the time, sometimes the Epsom salt alone. I really think this has improved my skin ALOT. |

PRIMAVERA!!! But if it's too expensive I'd go with Dr.H or Jurlique. Those are my favorite organic brands for cleansers and toners. |

Go with Dr H as Jurlique is definitely not all natural, or at least organic.
Otherwise try the Oil Cleansing Method as all it involves are natural oils. There are a number of threads on this and alot of your concerns will be addressed there. Also check out google for more information.
I use it and it removes makeup and cleanses the skin. Many people who use it actually do it for the purpose of combating oily skin. |

I love Dr. H Cleansing Milk. I have, well, fussy skin. Oily at times and in places, dry and flaky on other occasions. The Dr. Hauschka products have really done wonders for me. Less irritability. Less redness. Fewer breakouts. Overall happiness! |

Avalon contains organic ingredients, but Clarins only claim to be "natural" which does not mean a lot, especially if you look at the ingredients in their products...
I am currently using the Sea Chi cleanser which smells (a bit too much perhaps) of rose and geranium. I am alternating it with Lavera Neutral cleanser which is a foaming gel and I really like it. |

When it comes to natural cleansers, I am completely hooked on this organic French line called PHYT's (plants in French). I found it by accident while traveling through Europe last year and I just can't stop raving about it. I have extremely oily and acne prone skin and I am currently using the Phyt's Cosmetics - Deep Cleanser For Oily Skin called Mousse Faciale. I works beautifully. I believe you can find it online if you do a Google search.
I've tried them all and below are my comments:
MyChelle - not effective at all
Jason C cleanser - has too much alcohol => dry out your skin and leave dry patches
Alba Botanica - doesn't work at all
Primavera - expensive and has too much essential oils => not a problem unless you have sensitive skin
Jurlique - expensive
I hope that help you with your selection process. |

Hi loveskincare, What I do is just pour some epsom salt in my hand and mix it with whatever cleanser I'm using at the time. I sometimes just use Epsom salt with a couple drops of water and cleanse my face with that. I have noticed that my skin is ALOT more smoother and I have not gotten one pimple since using the epsom salt. Now if I could just find something to help with these acne scars . |

Thanks Adonis for the link to Phyt's. Now, I know where to go to when I run out of my Phyt's products.
Smoothskin, you should definitely give Phyt's a try if you are looking for pure and truly organic skin care product. I am sold. Good luck. |

How about PSF Papaya Cleansing gel? I don't believe it's organic, but it's natural. I've only been using it a few days, but it leaves my skin feeling clean, and it has a soothing smell. |

llb, what is your skin type?
I have extremely sensitive and reactive skin. Sometimes the most innocuous things can set it off. I've been trying a sample of a cleanser that seems to be agreeing with my skin type...at least for now. It's an all natural product from Garden of Wisdom. The following info is from their website:
GoW Mild N' Clean Castille Cleanser pH 5.5
This cleanser is formulated for sensitive skin types that are choosing to avoid any harsh foaming ingredients or detergents.
Mild N' Clean Cleanser is moisturizing, cleansing, pH balanced (so the acid mantle of the skin is not compromised), conditioning, hydrating and cleans effectively although it does not contain a sudsy lather!
Ingredient list:
100% Olive Oil Castille Soap
Seaweed Extract
Seabuckthorn Berry Oil CP
Grapefruit Seed Extract
Orange Essential Oil

Purity cosmetics has the most amazing cleanser I've ever used! It feels so energizing and it really helped clear my acneic skin. My skin is also somewhat sensitive and combination. |
Wow. I just looked this up. Can you buy it in the stores or is it just online? |

Well I wouldn't call it cheap but if you're in North America you can get it here:www.saffronrouge.com.
Might I also recommend Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream or Cleansing Milk. They are aslo favourites of mine along with Primavera. |

What do you need this cleanser to do? Remove make-up or just a nice, general cleanse?
I like some things in the OSEA line (www.oseaskin.com) and their Ocean Cleanser is very nice indeed, but I am not sure that it would be up to the task of make-up removal. It has a very light frothing (rather than foaming) when emulsified with water before rinsing off and does not dry the skin at all. Nice ingredients (nothing yukky) too. OSEA also does a Mudd cleanser for problem skin and a cleansing milk.
I almost forgot to add my absolute favorite natural cleanser (this is a last minute edit beore the function is gone..)... THE ORGANIC PHARMACY ROSE GEL CLEANSER. Again, not a make-up removal cleanser, but it is just beautiful to use, soothing, smells devine, washes off well too. Their PTEL (mint, eucalypt) cleanser for oiler skin is beautiful too (that is the one I am using right now .. when it runs out I go back to rose for winter), but does not compare to the rose!! They really both have the same texture though.
The Purity and Primavera lines are two of my absolute lemmings, with Purity being #1 on the list.
dealated, have you tried many things in the Purity line? If so, what are your "top 6" to try (I say six because the company will ship 4-6 items overseas for $50 and I want full bang for my buck! ) |

I have a brand new favourite cleanser now that I've started testing my Beauty Bible package of products. Although I'll be writing a full review on it later, I thought you might like the recommendation as it's pertinent to this thread.
For the last few days I've been using A'kin Rose & Geranium Pure Creamy Cleanser and Toner in One. It contains shea butter and feels lovely and rich, removes make-up (you can also use it on eye-make-up), is gentle, supposed to be good for sensitive skin and leaves your face feeling very comfortable. And it has the most divine smell you could possibly imagine.
The blurb recommends it for dry, sensitive and normal skin. I think it'd be too rich for oily or combo people.
Seriously, this stuff is an absolute pleasure to use. It's by the Purist Company and here's a link to tell you more: http://www.purist.com/product.php?product=17 |
