I really wanted to try a new cleansing oil even though my fav is still Decleor's Cleansing Oil. So I decided to try Smashbox's one, not really sure why but I guess because I have sampled a few different cleansing oils lately but haven't heard anything about this one so I thought I might actually try it and see how I go. I couldn't find the ingredients list anywhere online, but I ended up buying the full-size bottle from SNet anyway.
Once I opened the box I noticed some of the oil had already leaked, but I couldn't be bothered complaining or returning it! (the packaging is not so great). I noticed the fairly strong fragrance which is pleasant but definitely overpowering! I then had a look at the ingredients and was a bit annoyed that mineral oil was the first ingredient.
In terms of the cleansing ability/quality I would have to say it's pretty average. I still noticed most of makeup was still on my face even after I cleansed 2x. My beloved Decleor cleansing oil got rid of everything the first time, everytime! Plus the Smashbox one definitely leaves an oily residue no matter how much I rinse my face, not to mention I find it makes my eyes sting badly. But on a positive note the bottle is quite large (i.e. 345ml)& it has a pump dispenser at the top, unlike the Decleor one which was a bit tricky to pour out.
Overall I'm not too impressed with this product and will definitely stick to either Decleor's cleansing oil or Babor's (which is another good one). But at the moment I'm still not quite sure what to do with my large bottle which is still 3/4 full. |
