Awesome idea RMB. I have never tried any other cleansing oil except DHC's which i love, but it's awesome to be able to compare the ingredients side by side...
marci65--the ingredients for laventine seem wonderful and the reviews on MUA (under its former name La Vitton) are superb.

Wow! Just the thread I was looking for. However, now that I know the ingredients for all the cleansers, is there one that people really like? I am looking for an oil cleanser that is fragrance free. DHC and Fancl were top choices, but I see there are so many out there.
I read somewhere that people often have an initial breakout when they switch to oil cleansers. Any thoughts? |

What are your proportions Pumpingmummy? I'm about to make my own and now that my skin is more balanced, I suspect the Y-Y would be unnecessary. Your thoughts...?
Thanks |

Yes, I had a breakout w/in days of starting the OCM about a month ago. First large, red very hard below surface zit that to this day it remains altho' smaller, & no longer red.
Second started to emerge & knew what was happening so ceased the OCM & drowned it in Vit E oil(always worked in past for me) and it disappeared after a wk.
OCM had totally normalized my skin. In fact, it's too drying for every nite use now. But it totally cleans out the skin.
IMO, it's necessary to use some method to really remove any trace of the oils after the OCM. Think that was my downfall...first several times using it I just tissued off the oils & then rinsed face w/ warm water. Think this was insufficient resulting in zits of the kind I've never before experienced. |

I guess you could leave out the Y-Y, but I'd put it in anyway because I just love the smell! My proportions change with every batch! Whatever it is it's always the EVOO the most, like the main base. Usually its about 2 fluid ounces of EVOO, then about an ounce each of everything else, followed by maybe 10-15 drops each of Y-Y and lavender oils.
If you don't want to include y-y check out the DIY thread for eo's more suitable for dryer skins.
I always clean the oil with a hot washcloth, it doesn't get clean enough otherwise. HTH! |
