Hi everyone,
I have normal skin but really greasy eyelids, by midday my eyeshadow is nowhere to be seen and by dinner time I've lost the eyeliner too.
I use Clinique eye make up and have tried Benefit Lemon Aid as a base which does seem to help a bit, but was wondering if anyone has this problem and has found a solution to it!
Answers on a postcard please!

I am really new to using eyeshadow, but a light dusting of MMU finishing powder has helped control oil on my eyelids and around my eye area without making it look too dry. |

Sorry Marci am half asleep I think - what's MMU? Is it available in the UK? |

Urban Decay Primer Potion (about $14.00 at Ulta stores) is the only thing that keeps my eyeshadow from creasing for a whole 12 hours. Believe me, my eyeshadow would start to crease after only a few hours before I found UDPP. |

Is Urban Decay available online rhensel? I'm in the UK can't remember having seen it available in shops here. |

Urban Decay Primer Potion is a MUST, this is fantastic at keeping on eye make-up, before this I used MAC paints which are effective too but Urban Decay is better. |

I absolutely have the same problem as you. I find the key to keeping eye makeup on for girls like us is your base - foundation or concealer. Water-based concealers in tubes are best - nothing cream-to-powder, in compacts or stick forms. Also all my eye makeup is waterproof. Check out this thread :

I think I might order a tube of the Urban Decay to try though ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

Fidget Urban Decay was in Boots, not sure if it still is.
How about a primer like Smashbox, or try using either the Rose or Lavender silk dusting powder by Jurlique over your eyelids before applying makeup, just a fine dusting, then maybe try a good long lasting eyeshadow, I recommend Stila, they last all day and if your eyelids are major greasy you could apply a very fine dusting of the Jurlique powder over your lids after eyeshadow to set it. Or how about a MMU powder, Jane Iredale do nice powders in compacts that you could use to set your makeup. |

Just a dusting of MMU or powder never did it for me. Even the Clinique touch base for eyes wasn't enough. I have to have a primer. Benefit FY...Eye was good, but if you don't blend it well, which is hard if as it sets quickly, you can see it under your shadow.
I have tried Urban Decay Primer yet, it's on my list. I have been using MAC paints in a bare nude color (name escapes me) and Laura Mercier Metallic eye cream in platinum (when I want to jazz it up a bit). It works fabulously. |

Laura Mercier eye basics. It leave your eyelid mate and highlight it too. Its a really good natural eyeshadows base and it last. |

Second Laura Mercier cream bases - I forgot I'm currently using one of the cream eyeshadows in a chocolate brown color! Really keeps everything in place. Just ordered Urban Decay's primer! Seems to be quite a must-have |

Be aware, though, that some people cannot wear Urban Decay PP -- i.e. the propylene glycol near my eyes, I suspect. I weep it right off.
It's the cilicones that keep the color on. So I use Monistat Soothing Chafing Gel (not the yeast medicine), which is silicones without any irritants for me.
Also muuuuch cheaper. A great foundation primer, too. |

Bourjois also do a waterproof Cream eyeshadow in a tube that looks similar to MAC paints. |

I have to agree with all the others. I have oily lids, and before Urban Decay I was constantly re-applying my shadow. I can go all day (and night) without a touch up now. |
