I recently discovered that my skin loves enzyme based products, especially for exfoliation. They normall leave my skin gently (but very effectively) exfoliated, really smooth feeling, but without the botchiness from chemical exfoliants or the redness from physical scrubs.
I just realised that I'm loving almost every single one of my enzyme products, including:
Dermalogica microfoliant (thanks Mabsy )
Mario Badescu Enzyme cleanser
YSL gommage sans grains (grainless exfoliator)
Osmotics skin refining mask
just wonderring whether there are any long term positive or negative effects of using enzyme based products? (such as skin resistance/ weakening of effect/ thinning out of skin etc). Because enzyme based products seem to be doing what AHA/BHA couldn't do for me. (i broke out from using MD glycolic products, or irritated from salicylic acid based treatments).

Sparkle,
I'm not sure about the answer to your question (though I haven't read anything that would suggest skin building resistance to it etc) but I would like to suggest another product for you to try I haven't tried this yet myself (although it's making the plane trip over to me right now ) but it's been recommended to me by quite a few people. I'm talking about Pevonia Enzymo-Spheride Peeling Cream. It's got pineapple and papaya enzymes (and has some ginko in it as well). Sounds good to me! Will report when I try it but would love to hear what other people think of it.

I love the J/A/S/O/N/ pineapple and papaya enzyme mask. It really makes my skin nice and like you say...no blotches! Oh, it's also dirt cheap |
