I got a 2oz. sample in my last order. I have to say I love it. The only 2 pre-made creams I like are the Marine Cream and the Bright-I.
The Marine Cream just feels heavenly. It soaks right in and gives my skin a sort of radiance. Not shine, but that look of healthy, happy skin. It's been doing wonders for my 11's (They're gone except in sunlight. But, only barely there even then.) I swear it's helping on my forehead "grooves". They seem to be reduced by about a third in depth.
Hope this helps.

Wow, Ari. That sounds great! I definitely will be ordering it now. Would you know if I could add ingredients to this cream if I wanted to, like the tetra. ascorbyl, liquid Beta Glucan, etc? Thanks so much for your help! |

I think you may be on to something with the Beta Glucan. I may do that as well. But the cream is so "chock-full" of actives, I wouldn't add anything else. Use the tetra. ascorbyl seperately and layer it first is my suggestion.

Thanks for the help Ari. I will add the BG then and use tetra alone first. I appreciate all your help! |

Ari - how long did you use this stuff to see results? |

Molly, the first time I used it my face looked and felt smoother. Now, keep in mind, I'm a firm believer that you need to switch things up every once in awhile to give your skin more of the things it needs (provide more building blocks, so to speak). So I only use this about 2-3 times a week. Each time I do, it seems to "build" or refine a little more based on what I've used "betweentimes".

Hmm, I missed this thread while it was fresh.
I was looking at SAS ready mixed creams and searched here..so!
Rileygirl - did you purchase, did you like?
I need some serious forehead renovation, it is really giving me grief at the moment.. so I was looking at this :
Best WRINKLE CREAM ever! ALA, CoQ10, EGF, resveratrol!
from SAS -- anyone tried it?
Any opinions on which would be better, this, or the marine cream?
I'm looking desperately craggy and if I dont find something soon I will probably hack myself a fringe and have to hide till it grows out. |

Catski - I did purchase. I think it is a very nice cream. I did not see the wonderful results with this, though. Also, there was something in there that kind of burned my skin a very tiny bit when I first applied. I don't know what ingredient it was, but this is strange for me as I have very tough, product resistant skin. I purchased Osea Advanced Protection Cream (very expensive) but I love this cream. I am using the Beta Glucan mixed with this cream and my skin looks "better". I can't put my finger on exactly what is looking better, but I am sticking with this combination for a while. HTH! |

That's interesting, Rileygirl, thanks. It sounds like for you it was just 'ok' and nothing special, and even a bit irritating.
May I ask what kind of skin you have, and your age?
(I know Arielle is relatively near me in age, and I think we have similar issues to deal with, so it would be helpful to compare.) |

No problem, catski. I am 44 and have what I consider very normal, product resistant skin, meaning not dry, not oily, no breakouts, and usually I can use anything on my face without any problems! |

Hi rileygirl,
is the marine cream the same as mixing the canvas with the SKB (their version of creme de la mer)? sounds very interesting. I really like what i am using now, but am always on the look out.

I don't think so Kristen. I think it was their "christmas special" cream (I can't remember what they used to call it, but then they changed the name to the Marine Cream.) Anyway, this Marine cream has lots of actives in it. Check out their website. It is a nice cream, just nothing that I wanted to repurchase for myself! (I am always on the lookout also, Kristen!) |

Has anyone tried the anti-aging cream from SAS then? The reason I ask is they're offering a trio set of anti-age, i-bright, and something else for 30% off. |

Well if it's discounted giving it a try wouldn't hurt. I think I mentioned on another thread that the anti-aging cream is full of great stuff for prevention but I didn't see any fast results.

Hi Ari,
I think the 3 in a set is about $42. So it's almost like you pay for the anti-age and I-bright, and get the lip thing free, but I'm leery about the lip thing since my lips are allergic. I'm starting to think the culprit for my allergy is beeswax b/c everywhere I turned (BBS lip balm, Burts Bees lip balm) all got beeswax in them, and my lips swelled up badly from using them. I think I'll have to email Hannah to see what's in the lip thing.
Thanks,
C |

I'm intrigued by the celestine make up primer they have over at SAS.
I'd like to make a DMAE spritzer. Arielle - you make one, dont you? Do you use SAS DMAE in your DIY potions? |

Id like to try the marine cream. Im waiting on some Beta Glucan to arrive and thought i might add it to this.
Do you think Niacinamide would be good to put in it as well? Ive been reading good stuff about this ingrediant. |

Kristen do you mind sharing what you use? Ive been thinking about some DIY, i might try a face cream first but am getting so confused switching between GOW, SAS and Skin Interactives, my heads spinning!
Ive been reading about different ingrediants and cant even pick a base cream!Though im leaning towards Seakelp Bioferment or marine cream. I want to make something anti-ageing/anti-oxidant.
Ive ordered Beta Glucan so that will be going in it for sure |

Hi Carol,
Of course I don't mind sharing . It's awesome that you are getting the liquid BGs, because it is one of the ingredients used in my favorite cream.
I am using the GoW veggie base mixed with the liquid oat beta glucans and the pearl powder. I love it.
I was initially going to purchase the SAS canvas cream but from the ingredients, i prefer the GoW formula since it has less fillers, thickeners and doesn't contain butylene glycol.
For the recipe i use it is posted in the DIY thread:

This recipe has been posted in the beta glucans thread but I just thought I would add it here too.
I tweaked Garden of Wisdom's Markey's directions for dissolving pearl powder into distilled water and then mixing into 1 tbsp of base cream then adding it back into the rest of 2 oz of base cream. I simply didn't read her directions carefully and failed to follow the last directions to re-add the mix into the rest of the base cream. As a result, my mistake yields a higher concentration of actives in the cream which is nice.
Oat Beta Glucans Pearl Powder Cream
- 1 tbsp base cream (i used GoW's veggie base cream)
- 1 tsp liquid oat beta glucans
- 1/2 tsp pearl powder
I first dissolved the pearl powder in the beta glucans by mixing it and waiting for 2 minutes, then i whipped in the veggie base cream. I applied and wow, such a matte, smooth finish.
This was originally an experimental batch, so I didn't use my whole jar of base cream which is 2 ounces. To make more, just increase the proportions.

HTH, Kristen |
