Hi, I just found out about the dermaroller method, and was wondering if anyone that has used it has any advice if it's a good product for me. I have some acne, and I do have acne-scarring on my cheeks that is not too deep (but will become more noticeable as I age) and was wondering if it is an effective method to use on acne scars. Also, what is a good length of needles to use for my skin type?
-I have more of a sensitive skin type with some blotchy areas, and of course the acne that comes up every once in a while.
-Is it effective for these problems?
Thank you!!! |

Maria, longer needles are required to break up the scar tissue bundles that tether and pull down the acne scar. For scar removal rolling, it seems that 1.5mm gives the best results. |

Dermarollers below .75mm are to increase topical penetration into the skin. .75mm and above are for skin remodelling, increasing collagen production, working on scars.
Fromwww.skinroller.com/Goldenskinroller.html
Needle size - used for
0.25mm - baldness, fine wrinkles, gray or thinning hair (and to help topicals penetrate)
0.5mm - alopecia, deeper wrinkles, face rejuvenation
1.0mm - loose elasticity, cellulite, stretch marks, skin pigmentation
1.5mm - acne scars, large pores, deep wrinkles, anti-aging, chicken pock scars
2.0mm - surgical scars, stretch marks, deep pitted acne
2.5mm - deep scars, body lifting, severe acne
Needle Length---Max Penetration
0.25 mm --------0.07 mm
0.50 mm --------0.30 mm
1.00 mm --------0.70 mm
1.50 mm --------1.30 mm
2.20 mm --------1.50 mm |

I want mine for topical penetration (.25) is what I'm going for and then for anti-aging (1.0) is my choice. I don't have acne scars p just wnat the collagen boost.
I think you may want the 1.5 but remember the anesthetic because this dermaroller is the Big Dog. |
