Hi guys
I was recently put onto this product to help me with my acne prone skin. I received it today but I'm not completely clear on how to use it properly.
The directions say:
Quote: |
"Apply a small amount on clear skin and smooth over the entire face." |
How does it exfoliate when all you do is apply it? I was under the impression that in order to exfoliate you must use some sort of abrasive action on the skin to remove dead skin cells. It just doesn't seem effective in actually cleaning my face like I'd imagine an exfoliant would.
Can someone please enlighten me?
Thanks |

it's a chemical exfoliant which means that the chemical reaction between the product and the skin is how it exfoliates. It unglues and loosens the bonds between dead skin cells and the healthy skin cells and then you wash the dead skin cells away the next time you wash your face. |

BHA is a CHEMICAL exfoliant. It exfoliates within the pore to degunk the pores. It did more for my blackheads than anything I ever tried.
What you are talking about is manual/physical exfoliant which many cannot tolerate due to irritation. Manual exfoliation is purely surface - removing dead skin cells but doesn't degunk pores. |

Ah-haaa! Perfect.
I had no idea that's how it worked.
Thanks |

Good luck with the lotion If it doesn't work out, the liquid is very popular. |

Keep me posted Emma! I was going to order the BHA solution from Ifreepretty since it looks like a very good formulation, but unfortunately BHA lotion can't be shipped internationally *sighs*. I was just about to post asking for recommendations available in Australia ^_^. |

Have you seen any results? If so, how long did it take before they were noticable? |

I see results in the blackheads / clogged pores, these products def help clear them out. I cannot use them daily though or they would be too drying, but I find these much gentler than the Professional Solutions products. And they are cheaper. They just keep my skin clearer I guess you could say |

Cool
Should you use a face cloth or cotton pads with your cleanser to remove the unclogged dirt in the evening, or is using your handsgood enough? |

You wash with whatever cleanser you use, then dry then soak a cotton pad or gauze with the BHA (mine is liquid) and swipe all over your face. Then you must wait 30 minutes before you put any thing else on your face, this gives it the time it needs to work. Then after that 30 min. you can put on moisturizer or what ever you use. I use oil blends, but you can use whatever. Hope that helps. Amy |

Moonman if you use your BHA consistently, once daily, you will see a difference in clear, smooth skin in a couple of weeks. If your skin gets too dry than back off and use it every other day. This is all I use as my night time moisturizer. |

I also have a "large pores" issue, so considering buying a BHA lotion, after all the reviews on this forum. But I'm a little bit confused How does it fit in your skin care routine? Are you supposed to use - a cleanser -a toner - a BHA lotion- a moisturizer ? Or do you replace a toner or a moisturizer with BHA? But if I understand correctly, it's an exfoliant - so maybe I should use it right after I clean my skin?
Please help |
