This may be a weird question, but years ago I got a piercing in the cartilage at the top of my ear. I had a cheap earring in it for a long time. When I decided to remove it and close up the hole 6 years ago, I had a green mark there from the earring. At first I thought it was temporary but it never went away to my annoyance. It looks like an ugly green "nickel" tattoo. The dermatologist called it a "scar" and referred me to a doc who removes regular tattoos with a laser but he wouldn't touch it because I guess of the location/thin skin. So then my dermatologist tried to dermabrade it but it didn't do too much. I am thinking the pigment is trapped in the skin. Would any products out there help this?? I don't know what to do anymore. Thanks.

People use TCA for tatoo removal. I think what you said sounds right... that the metal from your earring (did you leave it on too long?) oxidized on your skin and essentially the color got tattooed into your skin.

I would keep trying to get it off. if all else fails, then micropigmentation would be a good bet. They can do skin correcting by coloring your greenish patch a beige/skin color.

Thanks! I just got Tca 16%. Do you think that will help if I use it on the green mark? Maybe in layers?

I don't know the exact concentration- sorry Sad
I would first do online resesarch on the skinboards out there before trying to do it yourself. Try skinbiology.com- you can also pick up some copper peptides there to enhance healing. Smile

thanks--appreciate it. I also recently purchased copper peptides so I will research that too for getting rid of pigment.

I had this when I got my ear peirced last 2 years ago. A few weeks after they were peirced, I decided to move the earrings for some cleaning. I found a lot of green gunk on the ear holes.. But I was able to remove them. Sad

I had the same problem with a nipple piercing. I had unsuccessful dermabrasion and ultimately laser was my only option. It did work but I still have some remnants of colour. Good luck with this problem! I don't know what else to suggest. Red counteracts green so if you need to conceal it try a green based concealer.

i've never seen something like that before Confused but then again i only use the highest grade surgical stainless steel that the tattoo shops sell or titanium for my piercings. i even try not to use silver or gold whenever possible.
