I heard (but don't remember from where) that indoor light bulbs and the computer screen emit UV rays but not as harsh as the UV rays from the sun. Is this true? |

The computer screen does emit UV rays (and X-rays too ) but in minute quantities that are negligible. In fact, you're at more risk from the radiation from sitting behind a computer monitor instead of in front of it. Apparently the thick glass blocks out a lot of it, leaving the sides and back of it worse than the front.
I don't think incadescent lightbulbs emit any UV rays, but fluorescent ones do emit some. The material placed in front of it though (so the light cover for e.g.) can block most or all of it out. Either way, the UV rays being absorbed by your skin from these lights would be neglibible compared with going out in the sun (for the same period of time).

Mabsy,
I am so relieved to hear you say that. I have had this worry at the back of my mind for ages. Mentioned it once but no one had a clue
So I shall stop worrying now and therefore give myself less wrinkles

Good point! I wonder how much stress etc affects our skin. I mean in the long run. I know that in the short term stress/worries do show on skin (at least on mine ). |
