Well just when i thought I was gaining knowledge, I stumbled upon a whole whack of things I knew hardly anything about. I just spent hours onwww.theskincareboard.com and I'm mentally exhausted! They certainly know their stuff over there, but please help me choose what is best for me as I was overwhelmed !
Here's the deal:
*I'm 32, fair
*I want to keep my routine simple, but I wouldn't mind adding either a topical acid, a copper peptide, vit C serum, Retinol..., etc. I'm limiting myself to one more product only!
*main issues are: mild hyperpigmentation, mild breakout once a month (hormonal), fine lines (i'm only 32 but it's "game on" in the wrinkle dept), and generally good exfoliation to help with blackheads. Pore reduction isn't really an issue, but a little help in that area would be good.
Here's my routine:
AM
DHCC
ACV toner
squalane
Isomers Carnosine Complex (high anti-oxidant against free rads and glycation--stronger than Idebenone)
Olay Total Effects Eye (good value for $)
Juice Beauty SPF30
PM
DHCC
ACV toner
squalane
Olay Total Effects Eye
Remergent DNA Repair
1x per week Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel
The choice of acids goes on and on:
Glycolic, Fruit, Lactic, Mandelic, Malic, Pyruvic, Salicylic. And of course, there's the whole: "what percentage and how long do i leave it on" part.
Then i was reading a whole bunch of stuff on Copper Peptides and vit C. Once i choose a product, I've got to source out the best place to buy it. It's too much for one woman to handle!
I was leaning toward an acid, in particular the 10% mandelic from Garden of Wisdom (alcohol free and detergent free), but then i read threads about the benefits of lactic acid, and then i read about Exfol cream, and DianeYvonne's Green Cream Level 3 Retinol, and hey, throw in some info on Copper Peptides, and ..............plus everyone's adverse reactions to this and that.......and..............what's a girl to do?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Hi Steffers! This is just my humble opinion.
I'm 32 and if I had only one thing to add it would be retin-a. It helps with exfoliation, collagen production, hormonal ance, and wrinkles. I believe, from what I've read, that this is the best wrinkle prevention around. It has also helped shrink my pores. I would not be without it. |

I would throw in Asprin mask weekly which contains BHA (can really help with acne). I would also go for a vit-C serum like IS Clinical Super Serum or Candessence Triple C to help even out hyperpigmentation and stimulate collagen production. |
