Hi everyone:
I'm interested in trying a moisturizer with SPF and I might purchase one. I'm looking for a chemical free SPF. I've included the ingredients for this product. Any thoughts on it?

by the way, I have sensitive skin that is dehydrated but oily. I am looking for something that will not further clog my pores.
Thanks |

Hi LL
From first glance, this sunscreen contains octinoxate as a sun filtering ingredient - I believe this is a chemical, only zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are physical blockers.
As for clogging pores, dimethicone is the second ingredient on the list, so it is "good" for oily skin because it helps to reduce shine and create a matte complexion for a period of time, but may end up clogging your pores after prolonged use.
Is this by any chance a Remergent sunscreen? The extracts look very familiar.
I know Dr Hauschka make an excellent SPF 30 facial sunscreen, even though it has oil based ingredients, it is especially formulated for sensitive skins. Dr H sunscreens are all physical and don't contain chemical filters.

This is a mixture of physical and chemical filters.
I agree with Miranets that the Dr Hauschka sunscreen works very well, and if you are interested you could dig up my old review on it in the Product Reviews Forum. |

I you'd like better protection with the zinc, I would recommend another physical block. |

I looked under the Dr. H products and didn't see any moisturizers with SPF. Am I missing something?
To Miranets: No...this is not Remergent. It's from MAC. I didn't want to say it was MAC right off the bat because I know a lot of people don't think highly of MAC skincare. I thought just providing the ingredients might be a less biased approach.
I always thought I was allergic to all chemical sunscreens but I guess not, since the SPF lotion I'm currently using has octinoxate in it. I always break out in terrible bumps whenever I use anything with avobenzone or Parsol.
Anyways, thanks for everyone's response. |

My skin really HATES dimethicone. If I use a lotion that contains dimethicone, my eczema would flare up, and spread like crazy. ![Sad](images/smiles/sad.gif) |
