I'm going to get myself a new Sofina probably next week. And I'll also buy a Sunkiller based on skincareaddicted's recommendation too (turns out it's really cheap to get here ). I'm thinking of purchasing for interested members here as a humble way to contribute a little to this forum (this is among the very few things that I can easily get hold of but not readily available in the US/Canada/Australia...)
I can buy for you any sunscreens of Sofina (eg. Nuance Up, Lucent, Rise, etc) and Sunkiller Clear Water SPF50 PA+++ (I'm anxious to try this too ) Anyone interested in getting one of these? If a handful of members are interested, I'll purchase it and have it sent to you next time I do my shopping.
Please PM me if you're interested. |

OOO CK, thanks for the offer! How much are the Sofina Lucent? I got mine for US$36 through eBay. Wonder if it's cheaper to get it from HK? |

Hi Tiger_tim, Sunkiller is around US$6 here. How much does it retails for in Japan?
poofybabypenguin, where do you live? I suppose it costs around US$32 including shipping to the US. |

There are 3 pricings here:
Skintone milk and Clear Superblock are 1050 yen (um, about US$9.10)
Daily UV Gel is 840 yen.. about $7.30
All the others (Clear water, Powder Milk, Kirei Hada Water and Baby Milk) are 735 yen (about $6.40).
I know SASA sells my Shiseido Anessa cheaper too. I love that one and also SUNKILLERS. My house looks a bit like a sunscreen shop though.. sunkiller, Anessa, and some LRP I got DH to bring back from Europe... not to mention some leftover La Mer and MD Forumulations and Estee Lauder (emergency buy, must bin it. YUK) |

I have used neither but I'm needing one just for my body (and my face once my Clarins is used up).
tiger_tim: which in your opinion is the best sunkiller? Clear water? Powder milk? There are also some moisturizing/tightening ones which might not be for me but I'd love to read how they compare.
For all those who have used them all I'd love to read comparisons (yes I've read the other Sofina thread already all of it). Hopefully I can get some comparisons of Sofina and Anessa as well.
Thanks |

sormuimui, if you want one for the body, then the Daily UV Gel is great. It actually is a very light milk (VERY light on, no cast). It is also the largest size.. the one thing about sunkiller products is that the sizing is SMALL (and I mean SMALL for some), so they are really meant for face use only. My guess has always been that they keep the size small for 2 reasons - first it keeps the price down, but second, you can have a variety of sunscreen for different uses and still be able to use it up in a decent time frame. I personally like the small size as I hate having things sit in the cupboard too long.
Powder Milk is only 26 ml
Clear Water, Baby Milk and Kirei Hada Water are all 27ml
Super Block Clear is 35 ml
Skintone milk is 37 ml
Daily UV Gel is a whopping ( ) 100ml
(for our stateside friends, 1oz = roughly 30ml.. so as you can see they are SMALL) |

Baby Milk
Skin Tone Milk SPF50 PA+++

Yes poofybabypenguin, I'd say the price on Ebay is quite good. After all, I'm paying the retail price+shipping. |

tiger_tim: Thanks, but I'm looking for something with at least SPF 30, I'm not sure if SPF 25 is really enough. I use it on my arms and occasionally on my back (depending on what I'm wearing) so I'm not worried about the small size. Even if I buy 2, it's still cheaper than Sofina which was my next choice. Do you think you can give a description of the texture of each, that would help a lot since there are so many different sunkiller products.
Thanks! |

I had a sample of the Sunkiller Powder Milk which I loved. Though I read later that you shouldn't use it on your face as it has menthol in? It's the least greasiest sunscreen I've used, does anyone know which of the other Sunkiller sunscreens have a matte finish aswell? |

"SUNKILLER
I like Clearwater 50 because it's the lightest. If you like shimmer, Beauty Skin Water 50 is good. Powder-in Milk 50 has menthol and is best kept for the body only. If you're going to be spending long hours in the sun, you're better off with Clear Milk 85 or the tinted Lift-tight skin tone Milk 135. The others in the range have only PA+ or ++ and do not give sufficient protection." from http://forums.cozycot.com/showthread.php?t=5631
for some reason, i think sunkiller clearwater and the others with sunkillers with PA+++ offer better protection than Sofina. I don't remember if it was something i read or what. anyhow, i tend to prefer sofina because i adore the glow my skin gets from the tinited nuance up version. Sunkiller skin tone milk sounds nice also, but i haven't tried it yet.
Sel--Sunkiller Clearwater has a very matte finish, it is like they say, like water. it's a great formulation that doesn't dry out the skin either.
yeah, i have also heard the powder in milk version is best kept to the body because of the menthol in it. i think menthol irritates some people's skin. it's weird that you would want a powder finish on your body as opposed to the face though. |

Sunkiller skintone milk has a very different texture....It is thicker and take some time to dry properly but does even out the skin tone. |

Thanks for the info on the Clearwater. Yes, it does seem strange that anyone would want the powder finish on their body. It's a shame because I really liked the Sunkiller Powder, has a bit of a strange smell, but could tolerate it because of the great finish. May give the Clearwater a go, since I'm having such a hard time finding a sunscreen that is matte enough. |
