HI all! I am new here and love this site tremendously!!!!!
I am looking for a great product to try that will reduce my large pores. Does anyone have any recommendations? I use LaBella Donna MM and love it but also notice it kinda makes my pores seem a tad larger. I'd like to shrink them down a bit.
Also, what is the difference between all of the Vit C serums and does anyone have any recommendations??? PLease let me know
Thanks a bunch! ![Very Happy](images/smiles/biggrin.gif) |

Hi Ravenly and welcome to the forum!
I'm not so sure that there is ONE product that can do that permanently. The two types of products that I would look to would be exfoliators and deep cleansing masks (to clean out your pores). I have found that using Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream has resulted in a significant reduction of blackheads on my nose. That could make your pores appear smaller. In terms of masks you could try something line the DDF Clay Mint Mask for example. From what I recall Clinique has a product called Pore Minimiser but I'm not sure how effective it is. Also, clarifying toners could be the way to go as well. I really like the Dr Hauschka Facial toner and I know that they have a Clarifying version as well (which I haven't tried).
The vitamin C serums vary in the type of vitamin C they are made of (which is related to stability and absorption), the concentration of it and also any additives (eg. vit E or AHAs). I've been using the Vivier 20% vit C serum for the face and I'm about to start the Cellex-C eye gel as well. I would recommend starting with a lower concentration (say 10%) of whichever face serum you get. I find that the Vivier serums feel a bit less drying than the Skinceuticals ones. That's just my personal experience though.

Retin-A has helped to reduce my pore size. I think BHA's (like salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide) are also supposed to be effective in "cleaning out your pores" thus minimizing the size. Re the C serums, my favorite is C+ Firming Serum from CellularSkinRx.com. It has everything that you should look for in a C product: stable, l-ascorbic acid, low ph glycol solution, amber bottle. You want stability to insure effectiveness over time. You want L-AA because it is the only form of C that the skin can uptake immediately without having to process first. You want low ph so as to be nonirritating to your skin. You want glycol because it enhances C's effectiveness. You want a dark bottle to protect the C from light which will hasten oxidation process and the resulting ineffectiveness.
C has helped my skin to be brighter, clearer, retextured it...Really has worked wonders. |

I'll have to agree with betterat40 (again, we should just collaborate on our posts ) There is no one miracle cream. A good regime that keeps your pores clean will help them appear smaller. Vit C is wonderful, it will also help with the oil issues. A good AHA/BHA exfoliant is a must, something like Cellex-C's line smoother, also there New Complexion cream is wonderful. Retin-A is also a great way to go if you want to see your derm about the issue.
