Hi guys!
The skin on my face is so dry, parched, flaky, rough and bumpy! It basically feels like alligator skin (not that I've actually felt one before). I'm using rich moisturizer which keeps it from feeling too tight or cracking. I exfoliate to PTR Botanial Buffing Beads every other day. I'm drinking 1.5 litre of water a day and I'm taking 500mg of Evening Primrose Oil every morning. So far, nothing seems to have helped. Can someone recommend a cure? Thanks! |

I mean, exfoliate with...not exfoliate to. ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

Did you use any new products lately? Could you have contact dermatitis/allergic reaction to something?
I would stop the exfoliation for now. I have found a thin layer of aquaphor over my regular moisturizer helps when my face is extra dry.
When I have dry patches from dermatitis, I mix cortaid with my regular moisturizer for a few days and they usually does the trick. |

I've suffered from eczema and dermatitis all my life, but never had it on my face. What's aquaphor and where can I purchase it? |

I thought HA serum was for oily skin? Can I use it on its own or with moisturizer? |

Could it have something to do with the season changing? My skin got sensitive and a bit dry lately too. I try to use moisturizing masks more often (3~4 times a week), that seems to help a little bit. I just read reviews that the cellex B5 is quite good. You may get a sample and give it a try. I am getting some O'lsee masks recommeded by Stardustdy. I will let you know if they work.
I agree with mtview. Stop exfoliating may be a good idea. Flakes are the results of dehydrated skin, not the cause. It may irritate your skin and cause more problems. |

500 mg of EPO doesn't seem like it's enough. Maybe increase it to 1 g. Maybe try other supplements, too, like MSM (I take 4 g of MSM a day). Cut back on alcohol? Did you try detox? Are you watching your sugar intake? Do you put any oil on your face? Since you live in Thailand, and it's humid, I don't think your skin should be this dry. Have you got a facial? |

Hmm...I have dermatitis on my face all the time. It makes my face feels tight, rough, and sandpaper-like. Aquaphor is like vaseline but with some smoothing ingredients. Sorry, didn't know you are in Thailand so don't know if you can get aquaphor or not. |

Also, I wonder if you should try taking the Hyaluronic Acid? I am taking 2 capsules of these per day, but for really dry condition, they said you can take 2 caps twice a day. |

I posted this in the Lounge section. Maybe you need to nourish your face from the inside out. Check out the 10 foods you should feed your face!
Also there's a recipe for an avocado face mask that is supposed to instantly moisturize your face. I think I need to do this, too. I have to buy flaxseed oil and avocado. |

Thanks for your suggestions. It's really hot and humid where I live at the moment, so I don't there much to do with the season. However, I'm always in an airconditioned room. I've been using moisturizing masks (Phytomer and Decleor) every other day and mist my face with Evian spray throughout the day. I think I'm gonna check out those O'lsee masks on Sasa and Cellex-C B5. Thing is I just ordered loads of things from EDS yesterday and I'm gonna have to watch my spending a little bit. I'm gonna try Dremu Oil which I just ordered. Hopefully, it will help. |

I bought some argan oil, camellia oil, and squalane oil from an ebay seller, and received them today. I put all of them on my face focusing on the undereye area where it's the driest, and my forehead. I see that it really helps to moisturize the area very well. |

Thanks. I'm gonna increase the EPO dosage to 1g from today onward. What's MSM? You know dietary suppliments aren't popular here in Thailand and are rather difficult to get a hold of. You can only certain basic ones As for alcohol, I've stopped drinking completely for 2 weeks now, but still haven't noticed any improvement on my skin condition. I don't put any oil on my face as good quality oil is also hard to get a hold of here. I'm gonna try the Dremu Oil I just ordered. What oil would you recommend? I can't get facials so my skin is super sensitive and thin that they always left me red and raw, so facials aren't an option for me. I've tried at different places (Clarins, Shiseido, spas, etc). I really don't get how my skin got so dry living in Thailand, but I think it's always possible since everywhere is airconditioned here. |

Don't you want to try one oil at a time?! What if you have a reaction then you won't know which oil causes the problem? |

True about finding good vitamins is hard in Thailand. My sister always stocks up when she gets here or when I go back.
But there's a GNC in Thailand. I'm sure they got MSM. This is where I bought my MSM. http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-MSM-Methyl-sulfonylmethane
I don't think Vitacost ships to Thailand though. My sister had me order it for her. Maybe you can search for an internet store that will ship to Thailand. Look for a brand that doesn't have too many fillers and the capsule should contain at least 1 g each. You should see results in 4-6 weeks according to Tangal. It also helps with your hair and lashes. And I am finding that it helps with my weight, too. I have been eating like a pig and not much exercise, but I have not gained anything.
You have to take your MSM with Vit C though. Do they sell Emergen-C in Thailand? Here they got the Lite Emergen-C with MSM, so it's convenient.
Try searching the internet for squalane, argan, or camellia oil. I also heard Macadamia Nut Oil is very similar to human oil, so I want to try that, too. I think Garden of Wisdom sells all the oil, so you might want to PM MarkeyGOW to see if she'd ship to Thailand for you. She's a member here, too. |

Thanks bkkgirl. Does GNC stock Emergen-C too? There's a GNC near my house, so I'm gonna go check it out. I normally buy all my suppliments from my usual import shop, but the owner only imports Blackmores. Do you think Blackmores do MSM and Emergen-C too? GoW only accepts paypal, which is a problem for me at the moment. I hate not having paypal! ![Sad](images/smiles/sad.gif) |
