Has anyone tried the slow cooker (crock pot) liners that Reynolds makes?

You can get a free sample through the link above.

I would be hesitant to slow cook in a plastic bag. I remember when these were first advertised. I thought... how much efford does it take to clean a slow cooker? What will these companies think of next? Fortunately, my slow cooker has the removable crock inside. I just remove it, soak, wash it out.

Thanks for the link marci. Even for a free sample I am not impressed with the product.

I have and I really liked them. The food didn't have a plastic taste and it really was easy to clean up after dinner.

I really like the liners. It makes cleanup sooo easy, particularly if you are tired or short of time.

I love these personally. Even though my pot liner comes out also - these really make clean up easier. I have used them for a number of months now.

No plastic taste or issues. When cooking in the crock all day, sometimes things still stick and are hard to remove. With these no problem.

Great product IMO.

I was concerned about the possible health probs, maybe similar to what was told to us about covering food with plastic wrap in the microwave was okay, as long as the plastic didn't directly touch the food. And maybe that only had to do with the *microwaves* interacting with the plastic chemicals. Maybe a slow cooker's heat wouldn't have the same issues with the plastic chemicals. I know... maybe maybe maybe. Rolling Eyes Just mentiontioning it...

I'm a little hesitant about putting plastic in something that heats up, but hey, I sent away for the free sample and I'll give it a try.

I learn something new every day when I come here. Liners for the crock pot sound similar to a basic oven bag and would make cleanup way easier.

its basically an "oven bag" and made of the same stuff. I have used Oven Bags in apinch for the same thing. They don't fit as well,. but work good also.

Its not like platic wrap that melts etc.

I just noticed an article in this month's Body+Soul magazine about plastic containers and impact of chemicals on food. It talks about Tupperware-type containers, but also Saran-Wrap type, ziploc bag and the bags used in the produce section in stores. I will try to post back over the weekend with some details from the article.

I love these things since my crockpot doesn't have a removable liner! Sad Huuuge pain in the butt to clean the thing, and the liner makes it very simple.
