This one is a purebred CKC-registered Maltese toy-size, so she'll grow up to be about 4-5 lbs.

We're currently calling her Snugglepuff (after my chinchilla which I don't have any more). But somehow I am not positive if the name fits. She's a feisty little fluffy fur ball of energy. I had no idea they made something this adorable. She's less than 2 lbs now but BOY, she can make some noise when I leave her with Snowball (a 10-month old boy Maltese who is 10 lbs). She's not afraid of him whatsoever. She swatted him and jumped on him when she wanted attention. LOL But she won't make any noise if you hold her and she's as calm as can be in your lap. As soon as you put her down, she'll whine as loud as she can.

So if you can think of a better name for her based on her pictures and my description of her, please let me know! She has a round body and her hair is all white. She looks a bit brown on her face but I think that's from her tears.

Also, how do you potty-train a puppy this tiny?

I'm going to call my next dog "Kitty". I cant wait to say Here Kitty, and have a dog come running.
Cute pup, by the way.

LOL, I thought along the same line but discarded the idea.

Yeah, she's too cute. I didn't mean to buy her because I knew I couldn't really afford her. I should have never gone to see her. Sad

Before I offer my suggestion I have to say that I am NOT a total kook! 'kay? At least I don't think I am. LOL

Have you asked her what her name is? All of my babies have named themselves. Because of this I've never had to "teach" my dogs their names.

This is how it works. Watch her for several days or about a week. Think of some names that come to mind then look her in the eyes and call her by those names slowly one at a time. When she hears one that she likes you'll know. She'll either rush over to you, or suddenly stop and stare at you or begin wagging her tail or wiggling her behind frantically. Anyway, she'll let you know.

Ari

Adorable, but with an attitude. Maybe something to reflect her inherent diva-ness?

You're not crazy. I did this too, also with my son.

bkkgirl, She is too cute! I like the thought of using your bkk as a starting point, maybe... using the initials to find a coupla cute names, and bk could be a nick name.

What a seriously cute puppy. So many names come to mind, I'm sure you will come up with something to suit her personality.

She really is incredibly cute and adorable. If she was mine, I'd counteract her cuteness and call her something like Godzilla. (A little dog with attitude would surely love a name like that.) You could shorten it to 'Zilla when on days when she's feeling all girly.

Very cute puppy! Maltese are fantastic dogs. My maltese (Brody) is 7 years old and has always been a wonderful dog. Extremely smart. I don't think I could have asked for a better pet (actually he's more of a companion because I've never thought he knows he's a dog Smile )

As far as housebreaking you shouldn't have too big of a problem. The biggest issue I ever had with Brody is that about once a year he gets kind of lazy and decides he doesn't feel like going outside Sad (primarily when it's cold). Even then, he goes to the bathroom. All it takes is a stern look from me and that stops that.

Sorry I can't be much help on the names because I've always named my pets more along the lines of "people" names. Except for my daughters pug, which is named Harley..lol

How about Maribou? She reminds me of one of those fluffy Maribou boas that Hollywood stars used to wear around their necks with their slinky gowns.... so elegant darling... Laughing

as for puppy training, check out Cesar Millan the Dog Whisperer website. He's totally amazing when it comes to understanding dogs and their behaviour.

I have a friend with a tiny little dog and she named her Killer. It's really cute to watch when she calls her and this 5 lb. little puff ball comes bouncing out.
