Hi everyone! I'm a strict vegetarian and have been so for all of my adult life. This means I have to take a b complex vitamin (among other things) to make sure that I'm not missing out on anything I need. HOWEVER, somewhere along the way I developed a cobalt allergy which manifests itself as a rash on and around my lips (ugh!!!) if I take too much B-12. However, if I just cut the B-12 out entirely it causes other problems, so with a lot of trial and error I have found that if I can find a b complex with just say, 200% RDA of B-12 and I break it in half and take half, it's perfect and I have no reaction. However, pretty much all the b complexes I see contain like, 2000% which is waaaaaay too much. So, does anyone know of any vegetarian b complexes that have a lower amount of B-12? TIA! |

I like nutritional yeast as a B complex. So does my cat! It's sort of an acquired taste tho. Mix it with enuf pure water to make a peanut butter like consistency and just lap it up! Mix it w/honey for a nice face mask. I buy it in bulk at a whole foods store, the flakes, not the granular. It's usually cultured off beet sugar, so no worries for us vegans! HTH

I second the nutritional yeast and simply add it to a shake first thing in the morning for breakfast. |
