grrrrrrrrr I decided I suffered long enough with this knowledge I had to share the info with all my friends. I am sure they would be glad to know about these mites living in their lashes when they open their email tomorrow. |

The question is "How do you get rid of these creatures?" What kind of soap do I use to make sure they get killed? |

I sent this link to several friends guys included.
I said in conclusion, "Aren't you glad you know the truth? I figured these mites don't discriminate between men and women since guys have lashes, too, so I thought my guy friends would also like to know about this important tidbit of info."
One of my guy friends wrote back:
Yeah but guys don't call them mites - we call them "pets." |

Yeah, I was laughing so hard until I realized I probably added a few more wrinkles to my eyes, and I immediately stopped. |

Demodex mites are usually harmless, and do a good job at keeping the bits of dead skin cells off our lashes and face. It is also a common myth that they cause acne. So they might not be so bad afterall. And no matter what cleanser you use they'll always be there. ![Wink](images/smiles/wink.gif) |

Ewww!
Kinda reminds me of when I was working for an optometrist and he was telling me about how you can get lice in your eyelashes
And in case you were wondering they are not the head lice variety ![Embarassed](images/smiles/redface.gif) |

I'm not even going to read that article! I don't want to know. We have millions of little creatures living all over us inside and outside.
Over our lifetime we lose 13kg in skin (gag), which ends up as dust or chomped on by house dust mites, especially in our beds.
I like to think that they're all there to look after us, otherwise we wouldn't be able to get out the front door from wading through dead skin! ![Shock](images/smiles/shock.gif) |

yes, we have really cute looking mites in our eyelashes, on our skin, in our beds, just about everywhere! They are microscopic, though, so you never have to see them.
No need to try to get rid them, they are here for good.

I've read this thread but I don't think I want to click on the link. I don't think I'll like what I'll find out. For now I'll just live in blissful ignorance and keep applying Carrie's eyelash serum to make them longer (and give things more space to live in ). |

Hmmmmm, I surely hope that the JMAIE super growth serum doesn't turn them into "super mites" ![Razz](images/smiles/razz.gif) |

What scared me about the article is when it says that if there're too many of these mites living in one follicle, your lash will fall out more. I don't want that to happen, so I want to keep my lashes clean.
I think one of the things to do is make sure you change out your mascara every 3 months, and what I've been doing is cleaning out the applicator wands for the lash serum, ardell, etc. |

I agree with you. Although in Tyra's show, they said to change out your mascara every month.. Which is too much for me!!! ![Mad](images/smiles/mad.gif) |

Yikes! I only use my mascara like once a month! Twice at most. That's a lot of $ to waste. |
