I purchased this body sponge a while ago, it's a bathroom accessory that has a cloth like material wrapped around it with a textured side. It's basically all cotton, and sponge inside. I want to use it, but I need to clean it regularly for obvious reasons.
How do you think I should go about doing so? Put it in bleach?
let me know if you have any other ideas |

throw it in the dishwasher -- I'm serious! The water in there gets much hotter than it does just out of the tap. I do that when my kitchen sponges get funky too. |

Oh great idea! So basically, the hot water and the dish washer soap should be enough |

yep! If it can save mildewy kitchen sponges it can definitely thoroughly clean your body sponge! |

I personally wouldn't put it in the dishwasher as it's got to go around your body bits afterwards, you might be allergic to dishwasher fluid!
I put my bungy, squeegy thingy, (whatever you call those things that look like body size scouring balls), in the washing machine each week with a deterrgent for sensitive skin. |

I heard a tip about getting a kitchen sponge wet and putting it in the microwave to disinfect it. I suppose it would work with your sponge, too, if it doesn't have any metal parts. |

I put all of my bath sponges etc in the washing machine, it works a treat and they last a lot longer. I have a little mesh bag for washing delicate items in and I put them in that. |
