| I just wanted to share this. My mother has been using Signature Club A skin care and cosmetics for about 3 years, and I swear, I looked at her long and hard this weekend and she has virtually NO WRINKLES for a 61 year old woman. Her skin tone is very even, too. This could be related to good genetics (after all - she was beautiful when she washed her face with Dial Soap (yes... Dial Soap!!!) until she became addicted to QVC), but Signature Club A must be having a positive effect. The cosmetics really do wonders for her, too. They have a concealer set with different colors and textures to prep the face before foundation. She loves her "anchor woman blue," which she applies under the eyes to get rid of dark circles. Adrienne Arpel's mantra is "hide it, hide it, hide it." My father teases my mother everytime she's applying her makeup. He says, "hey - you keep putting on that stuff and maybe you'll disappear!" Anyway, I'm not budging from my products, but I think I've decided to stop teasing her about ordering skin care from the TV. |

I’m glad those products are working for your mom, but I have to say that when I’ve been channel-surfing and come across the Home Shopping Network when Adrienne is visiting to hawk the Sig Club A products, I always find that Adrienne’s facial appearance gives me the jeebies! I don’t know what it is, but she completely creeps me out. I think part of it stems from the way her lips look. I swear, they look like a couple of pieces of raw liver that’s maybe been left out too long to thaw!  When I see her on TV, I’m just mesmerized by her lips and I’m not able to see past them to evaluate the rest of her face to see if her products have actually been kind to *her* – although I’m sure that Adrienne has the means to avail herself of other anti-aging procedures....
Okay, I realize that this little anecdote doesn’t really have anything to do with your mom’s youthful looking appearance, but when I saw the title of this thread, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to share my little aversion to Adrienne with others. Isn’t it strange how sometimes we zero-in on only one thing and can’t seem to look beyond it?? |

Like Carekate Adrienne looks odd to me.  I am sure you Mother has great skin to begin with. If it is working for her that is all that counts.
I have HD TV. When they makeup the models they cake the makeup on them. No woman would go out of the house looking like that. The Home Shopping Network has to realize what people with HD are seeing.
I have never tried Signature Club products and most likely never will. I find Adrienne somewhat annoying.  |

Really, Dr. Brandt has the same effect on me-actually he scares me a little.  |

Her makeovers are always hysterical- she slaps on the stuff as fast as possible.
Uneven blush, eyeshadow into the temples and lipstick up to their nostrils! Those poor women...... |

I agree Adrienne looks strange! Her lip work is very obvious but she creeps me out for a reason I can't articulate. I cannot stand watching the models getting made up, I feel so sorry for the way they are treated - foundation slapped on their faces then dragged so their skin gets pulled, minimal to no blending so there's a lot of smearing, etc. Then at the end of the application they smile bravely at the cameras but somehow they look like to me like they're about to cry.
That said, LandB I'm truly glad its working out for your Mom  The bottom line is always the results. |

I hadn’t really thought about that before, but you are exactly right! Whenever I see those “makeovers,” every single time I find myself thinking “They looked better *before* they were make up....” But I still think Adrienne’s lips look like spoiled liver!! |

Totally agree with the hilarious comments on Adrienne Another maven who creeps me out is Marilyn Miglin, she always looks like she's got a broom handle *you know where* and the face is kinda scary too

I remember Marilyn Miglin's appearance on the Shopping Channel in Canada a year ago. She was selling some anti-wrinkle kit, boasting of the latest tehnology in her products from France.
(It may very well be true- Miglin had a good (pre-infomercial) reputation).
What was painfully obvious, is that dear Marilyn was the victim of very bad Botox, just as she was selling her wrinkle line. The entire left side of her face was paralyzed, and she had a strange slur when she spoke as half her mouth did not move at all. The slur was not there before, and has not returned since that visit.It was funny (in a mean sort of way), sad and insulting at the same time.

| I'm cooking dinner and while the Italian Sausage is browning I flip on the TV and do some channel surfing and............there's Adrienne ............I swear her lips are getting bigger. And tonights model, I feel so bad for her, she looked like she wanted to cry. Adrienne was making her lips really big to show off how great the product was in just ONE APPLICATION. |

| She obviuously has been into the lip fillers (resty, maybe) are little too much. You know know it goes "a lot is better than a little" - not always the case. She looks like she's been stung by several bees. I also have to agree that Dr. Brandt is really scary. Who would want to look like that? He would probably increase sales if he stayed out of the public eye. |

I bought the signature club A stuff years ago.
I hated the vanilla face cream (was wayyy to fragrant)
I hated the color wheel- didn't work at all for my skin tone- anchor woman blue made me look like seasick sailor blue under my eyes.
the only thing I liked was this vitamin C spray that was orange and had a bit of sparkle to it. It made my skin look really nice (but if your really fair it will look like you put cheap tanning cream on your face) |
