Does anyone use a handheld face roller ? How do you find it and when and how do you use it ? I have used one on and off for years and I am sure it boosts circulation and helps product absorbtion, saw mine looking at me in my basket full of stuff a couple of nights ago and thought mmmm, haven't used that since the summer, went and washed it and used it. |

Interesting!
What brand is it? Where can we get one? What results have you seen?
I have a huge 13-function professional skin machine that looks like it belongs in a dentist's office, and it has a metal roller thing called "galvanic," I think. I'm kind of scared to use it, because the instructions are translated into English and I can't really understand the finer points.
Usually I use my Dermawand to help with product absorption--that gizmo is awesome! |

I know l'Occitane sells one (I have it)... it's not expensive, just a plain wooden thing with a plastic roller on it. |

The product range is called touch...I got it in Boots a couple of years ago...the company is called selbybrucemarketing according to the packet...this is a link to a picture of their products, its the small roller at the top, I have it in a pink colour tho, I have the foot roller the larger one on the bottom....
http://www.selbybrucemarketing.co.uk/images/pop_aqua.jpg
I use it after I have put all my products on at night especially if I am using a balm I roll it over my face until it is quite pink then massage more with my finger tips and I find the products go in more.... |

I have a feeling I've seen jade versions of this on ebay and wondered what the benefits were.
Jade would be lovely to use in the hot weather, I imagine.
Interesting.
I also use derma wand and am a fan of it. |

there is a company called environ their website iswww.eniron.co.za they sell a medical roller. They say that your skin cannot absorb the vitamins without first preparing the skin by lightly rolling it with the little roller with needles, thus allowing penetration of topical products...... |

Hi, I tried a dermaroller a few years ago, (believe it is the same thing). I found it too irritating, and it bothered me using these fine needles on my face.(too freaky, lol!) |

I think there are 2 different treatments, 1 roller is for the dr and one is for inhome use, they are both really expensive however they make a convincing argument that what good is it to buy expensive products if they cant penetrate the skin? You can email them to have a rep call you..... |

I'm looking at the website for the dermaroller, and their before and after pics are - of course - pretty impressive.
So I'm wondering if - aside from the freakines of it- did it appear to do the job it says it will, for you, lipglossdoll? |

I don't know if we looked at the same before / after pictures. I bought dermaroller in March because of those pictures but later on I realized it's after "professional" treatment picture not after "home use" picture. |

Ah. I see. It says "Before and after photos using medical rollers just under the description of the different models.
They dont appear to have different photos for the different models of roller - so I guess ultimately the photos arent helpful at all, for a home user.
Thanks for being observant, MACrisis. |

I have one, but I am not sure if we are talking about the same thing. I bought it for face massage to make it smaller... You can find it in Japan or some websites selling japanese brands. |

Any more feedback on the dermaroller?
I have a jade roller I bought on Ebay. The jade stays cool and is refreshing to use on the face. It is also supposed to promote circulation / acupressure. I keep it near the couch and use it while watching TV. |

Are we all talking about the same kind of roller? I've started using a Novaderm roller- it has 0.75mm needles that penetrate the outermost layer of skin to increase product penetration. To promote collagen, I think you need deeper penetration, such as professional CIT(collagen induction therapy). Dermaroller makes products for this, but doesn't sell them to the public. Through ebay,ca I was able to order a roller with needles 1.5 mm in length, from a seller in thailand. It probably won't arrive for weeks, and when it does, I'm guessing I'll need to apply a topical anesthetic, as well as prepping my skin with betadine( to prevent infection). But I'm a crazy woman, so I'll give it a go.

I have a jade roller aswell. The one I bought comes in two sizes, a larger for use on most of the face and smaller for use around your eyes and mouth. I can't say that I've been consistant with my use of it so I can't really say it's made a huge difference to my skin but it's a cooling sensation and I can imagine with continual use it would help the circulation and reduce puffiness though not dramatically. |
