I have seen reviews for many of CareKate's wonderful lip products, and other great CareKate products, but have not seen the Lip Plumping Balm. Please move this post if I missed proper placement.
I LOVE this balm. My shade is a deep rose, a YLBB. This has become my fave lip color ever. It looks deeper in the pot, but looks so natural when applied, truly MLBB. It is not shiny/glossy. I'd call it "satin." I even prefer it over Carrie's nice LushLips product.
It comes in a little pot with a clear bottom and black lid. The texture is amazing. It glides on and has great staying power, like a stain. It has a nice citrus scent. I apply it with a Q-tip. Now, I can't say for sure about the "plumping" effect. BUT I CAN say I have been using all of CareKate's lip products, exclusively, and my lips look great. Better than I remember them looking in a long time. They feel hydrated, and perhaps this is part of the plumping process. I must confess, whenever it's time to use a CareKate lip product, I feel like it's a treat! Luscious. I have not used ANY of my Chanel, Estee Lauder, or MAC lip colors since I started using Carrie's. I feel like they are inferior as far as the feel of it on my lips, and the staying power.

oh man ... I'll need to order this too.
When I placed my last order she had the LushLips Tinted Lip Balm and the Overnight Lip Treatment but was still tinkering with the Lip Plumping Potion.
I've been using another lip plumping system but I absolutely adore Carekate's products and can't wait to get back. |

Gosh! Another lip balm.  You are too cruel to us Carrie. Always coming up with new products that actually does what it promises.
Eyes her bank account - I am going to have to budget to try this too. I wonder if it is the MaxiLip product CareKate mentioned on the DIY page. |

Lucyluc - Carekate doesn't have a website (yet most likely). But if you private message her you can request her products. Some of her old products are titled as Dr Holland's (insert product name). |

Rjez - Are you talking about Kandis' system? If so, can I ask why you are giving up on it so quickly? It takes at least a month to really start getting improvement. Just curious! |

I'm not giving up. At some point I think my lips will be conditioned enough to use other products. At that point I fully intend to return to Carekate's products and integrate her products. I adore the smell, taste and consistency and I think her products are much better than traditional l/s. |

| Thanks for the clarification Rjez! I just wanted to make sure something catastrophic hadn't happened while using Kandis' system. By the way, she just posted a very interesting message on the Lips2Kiss thread. I sure hope to achieve Angelina Jolie lips too (okay maybe not THAT large ). |

I would feel much more comfortable about using kandis system if it was the case that after a while one would be able to use something like carekate's products. I very much want to try carekate's lip product.
Actually I'm hoping to hear what carekate thinks of the whole wax - drying - out - the lips- idea. I 'm sure she will have a creative response to it. |

Catski - supposedly you WILL be able to go back to traditional lipsticks and chapstick, etc. Kandis just recommends that you don't for the initial first phase while your lips are being "redone" or whatever she calls it - I think something like 2-4 weeks.
If you have any interest about Carekate's products - I would say ... 'just do it'. Carekate's products are wonderful and I really wouldn't have started Kandis's system if she said I could never use anything else besides her products ... as if.
My lips are starting to peel. As soon as that's over ... I'm slathering myself in Carekate's stuff ad nauseum. |

Apparently I've been too busy to keep up with the latest lip plumping craze (who the hell is Kandis?!), but I actually agree that wax dries out the lips! I avoid it in my lip balms/plumpers as much as possible because I feel all it does is prevent the ingredients from penetrating into the lip tissue to do any good. There is only one "wax" that I would advocate in lip products and it is "orange peel wax," because it helps maintain the moisture-barrier to one's lips.... |

| I received my LushLips from CareKate the other day along with buffing scrub and it works brilliantly! I would recommend anyone to get these. I also use Hyaluronic acid capsules (as recommended by CareKate), and my lips are now fuller and softer. Thanks Carrie. |

I can say without a doubt that your products are the most moisturizing I've ever used.
For years I loved the tingle of Burt's Bees lip balm but it never stayed on long and never "moisturized" - at the end of the day I still had cracked, bleeding lips. Prada tinted lip balm, Avene cold cream lip balm and ChickenPoop were better - but once the balms rubbed off ... the cracked lips returned.
Your overnight lip balm and tinted lip balms are the only products that 1. stayed on unbelievably long, 2. stopped my cracked lips, and 3. my husband would actually kiss my lips. I did not have cracked or bleeding lips while using Carekate's products so I know it was moisturizing.
Hubby just gives me this "you're a crazy-lady" look every time he sees me using the Lips2Kiss stuff. I'm guessing soon he's going to demand a return to Carekate's overnight lip treatment. |

It's the before and after pics that have us all in a tizzy. For me, this system is more about those pesky lip lines on the border and above the lips than the plumping. BUT, the plumping is a very nice bonus! |

Oh Good! That's great news. Thankyou for filling me in on that. I guess it will be a 2007 project for me.
At the moment I'm using a fairly new LipFusionXL and really enjoying it.
2007 will also be my year of getting to use CarekAte's products, which I'm really looking forward to.
It's intriguing about the wax being so bad for our lips. Astonishing, really. I hope eventually this is more widely realised and lip products are modified. |

Okay, I read the Lips2Kiss thread from top to bottom and I think I’ll take a pass. The biggest reason being that all those indiscriminate endearments are making me feel a little queasy! 
While I agree with some of what was said, a lot of it is counter-intuitive to my own knowledge, research and experience. While I *do* agree that one must hydrate one’s lips from the inside out, I don’t understand why someone can’t create a product to DO just that but which doesn’t make your lips feel like the Sahara Desert unless you reapply it every couple minutes.   I mean, to me that’s the hallmark of truly BAD lip products (such as the infamous Perricone lip balm stuff that wrecked my lips after 3 applications). I know it’s possible to create a lip product that penetrates and moisturizes from the inside-out, which has actual staying power and leaves the SURFACE of your lips feeling soft and hydrated while it does it’s thing deep inside the lip tissue because – well – because, I came up with one, right?!
I have other reservations, some of which I tried to diplomatically express in the Lips2Kiss thread but I’m not going to say anything else on the subject in case someone accuses me of being a disgruntled, would-be competitor....
In the meantime, suffice it say I’ll stock up on some anti-nausea pills and continue to watch the Lips2Kiss thread for other’s updates and reviews. If I’m wrong, I’ll be happy to eat a little crow. |

Yeah, I can do without the colored text and endearments.
I've been using this for 8 days and the applications (especially using the blowdryer) is becoming incredibly tiresome. Sheesh, I'm not working right now and I still find this a pain in the ass to walk to the bathroom to do this.
I'm just in it for the lip plumping, I honestly don't think my lips were "starved for moisture". |

from what i remember, the ingredients in Lush Lips are very similar to a lot of those used in Lips2Kiss. i think after the initial period, Lush Lips will definitely be the way to go for colour!
(and i'm such a huge fan of carrie's overnight treatment, i just ordered 2 huge pots for the gang in Normandie to use over the holidays.) |

My personal opinion is that those who've been taking the oral HA/collagen supplements probably aren't going to have as noticeable results with that system because -- as you said -- your lips aren't "starving for moisture."
Would you mind explaining to me the purpose of blow-drying your lips? A little birdie forwarded me the basic instructions of the Lips2Kiss system, but it didn't really explain WHY you need to blowdry your lips. Is that supposed to make the product/s penetrate more deeply, or what? Just tell me what the reasoning is behind it, please! |

carekate--i agree with everything you've said about the lip2kiss system. i have been following the post lately and visited the site also. the pictures had me dubious since the "before" pictures are obviously far away pictues and the "after" pictures are more zoomed in, so of course, the lips look bigger in the "after" pictures. also, i kinda cringe because i think i read that you had to blowdry your lips and that does not sound pleasant at all.
also carrie, did you receive my PM? i sent it quite a few days ago, but have not heard from you, but figure you've been quite the busy bee! |
