My little guy is turning 7 in a couple of weeks. I have to host a party for him. I keep going back and forth on whether to just do something simple like his classmate who just had an ice cream party after school for her birthday, or do something more extravagant like hosting a party at my house with real food for kids and parents and fun games.
Maybe there're other alternatives, so I would like to see what other creative moms have done for their children around this age.
Edit to add: Any recommendations for fun kid games will be greatly appreciated. |

I had a pirate themed party for my six year old, last year. I made bandannas for the kids and had eye patches for them for when they arrived. I decorated the table with a big sheet of paper and burnt the edges to make a big treasure map and laid little rolled up maps for the kids to have a treasure hunt. We played walk the plank and pin the tale on the pirate! Of course i made a pirate ship as the birthday cake and for the take home lolly bags i found little treasure chests and filled them with chocolate money and lollies |
