I'm common as muck so I don't go in for all those fancy cocktails. I'll have a beer, though, please.
I've learnt me lesson. Last time I was back home, I went into one of the many locals in my pub-infested village and stupidly asked for a Pimms. You should have seen the look on the lass behind the bar's face. It was as though I'd asked her for the moon on a stick in Swahili. All she said was, "This is Northumberland, man, pet."  |
