I just noticed Fusion Beauty have a new mascara, but it's available at Sephora at the moment only. LashFusion has pure protein & is supposed to "plump" the eyelashes to add volume & length etc. I have to say I'm a real sucker for this type of stuff Embarassed

, but the active ingredients imo (see below) don't sound too bad actually, but I guess we need someone like CareKate to confirm this! Smile

Active Ingredients:
-Hydrolyzed Keratin: Acts as a sacrificial molecule protecting the follicle of the lash from outside damage. It provides a natural gloss finish, hydrating and smoothing any inconsistencies through a time release nanosphere delivery system.
-Carnauba Wax: Coats lashes to lengthen and maintain lash length and curl all day.
-Beeswax: Thickens and strengthens for fuller, thicker lashes.
-Carbon Black: Non petroleum-based, FDA approved, intense black pigment.
-Nylon 6 (micro-fibers): Lengthen and increase lash volume.
-Natural Camellia Oil: Conditions lashes to enhance appearance and increase elasticity.
-Panthenol: A humectant that hydrates lashes all day long.

I just read about this new mascara too. The comparison photos they have in their ad (Jan 07 issue of In Style) where they compare it to Dior Show and some other mascaras makes it look very tempting to try. Right now I'm a Blinc Kiss Me convert, but I'm always looking Very Happy

Yeah, I just saw this product myself in the special advertisement supplement in the current issue of Vogue (w/ Angelina on the cover) and was wondering about it myself.

Based on the list of ingredients, there's nothing in it that's going to stimulate growth in the lashes, but it's got a lot of nice conditioners (some of which I use in my lash serum!) that should counteract any damaging effects from the dye and waxes.

All in all, for a mascara, it's sounds pretty good. Let me put it this way: if I were still in the market to wear mascara on a regular basis, I'd probably use this one...although it would be interesting to see how it compares to a "natural" mascara like Dr. Hauschka's.

Compared to other mascaras, this one from Fusion Beauty seems like it would be the least damaging choice....

Well, I've just taken off my lash extensions and I'm only a month into my use of JMAIE so I was thinking this would be a good option for me, at least until my lashes are more visible.

For around $40 bucks it seems pretty pricey. I've heard good things about the Eucerin line of lash enhancers, but It’s not as easy to locate in stores.

Any thoughts?

40 bucks for mascara?

I don't know how I could justify spending that much on a mascara! But man...if anyone gives this a whirl, make sure you give it a review! Is it worth the 40 bucks???

As the others have said, this is basically a glorified mascara. As I stated earlier, it has a lot of lovely, moisturizing/nourishing ingredients in it...but I don't know if they're worth that much money ($40USD)!! Confused

I'm wondering if something like Dr. Hauschka's mascara would be a viable alternative? Can someone post the ingredient list so we can do a comparison? I know that the Dr. H mascara is a HG product for a lot of EDS members (me included, back when I was wearing mascara) and I know it's not nearly as damaging to lashes as "garden-variety" mascaras, but I don't recall ever having examined their ingredient list to see exactly what it contained....

I mean, I used to cringe when I was forking over less than twenty-five bucks for a Lancome or YSL mascara -- I'd probably have heart palpatations if I had to cough up forty bucks for one!!!

In that case, pound for pound, the Dr. H mascara has more nourishing/moisturizing/protectant ingredients so I'd go with it.

I bought it!
I figured yes, it's almost $40, but IF it does what is says it will do to my puny lashes, it will be worth it. And because it's at Sephora, I can always return it. I'm returning it. It does NOTHING any other mascara does. Nothing.

Thanks for the review Yogi. Can you compare the look and wear to another mascara? It sounds like it's mostly a conditioning mascara, which, I've just ordered Dr. Hauska's from EDS. I think it's probably very similar.

My impression from the ad was that it really made your lashes look a lot longer and thicker, as well as conditioning them. Plumped up - like their gloss. I use Talika for condition, so was really interested in the other aspects. On me, it really looked like any good black mascara. No clumps at all, even color, but my lashes did not look longer or thicker. I didn't use it for a long enough time to judge any lasting conditioning effects. Hope that helps!

More: as to comparing it to another brand, I think it's similar to Max Factor's MAX. Good, but not worth $40.

Yogi..does it leave your eyelashes very hard and dry or soft..? Is it easy to wash off with your makeup remover? I just ordered one on ebay for $25.

I don't think my lashes were hard. It's supposed to be water resistant, but it smudged during the day. Easy to take off with makeup remover.

Rjez - I could have sworn I checked EDS for the mascara and came-up with nothing...you just saved me from paying duty, a higher price and exorbitant s&h. Thanks!

I have been using the Jan Marini for about 4 months and have had good results. I recently purchased CareKate's Lash Gloss and applied some after curling my lashes. I then decided I wanted a little more more wow to my lashes, so I applied a light coat of Covergirls Lash Exact. Now my lashes look incredible. I've had different people ask me in the last few days if I was wearing false eyelashes or have had eyelash extentions. The LashGloss makes my unruly eyelashes lay perfectly.

That's amazing! I should find out from CareKate more about her lash gloss. Did you PM her for it?

Yes, but it's hard to get in touch with her due to her limited access to the computer. Be patient, her products are worth it.

I noticed Lashfusion on EDS so just wondered if anyone has tried it yet? Before I looked for an existing thread I had a look at Fusion Beauty's website amd the pictures look fantastic!

EDS shows me prices in £s and it says £19.81 which is less than the £24 I have to pay for my favourite mascara (Trish McEvoy) so I'm not too worried about the price. Well I mean I'm not worried if it works, it's a lot of money to pay to try something if it's not likely to work.

ETA I did try and find some cheaper mascaras a couple of months back and tried a few Clinique ones which were good but overall I still prefer my Trish McEvoy one so will pay the extra. I wanted to try the ones by L'Oreal and Max Factor but both those brands test on animals (boo) so I didn't.

I've tried this and personally, I did not like it. It sure did make my lashes look long and skinny. It was way too hard for me to wash it off. Mad
