Hi Everyone...
I'm in my early 20's
I have Normal skin with Acne right around my T-Zone area.
I was looking at Creme De La Mer cuz I heard some good reviews on them.
However, it seems like it's a good product for
Dry skin.
Anybody know anything about their "Oil Absorbing Lotion?" Is this for really Oily skin?

| If you feel adventurous, you can go to skinactives.com and buy their DIY creme de la mer kit and save yourself a lot of $. I didn't know it's for dry skin. Maybe I should try it! My skin is ridiculously dry. |

Hi there!
I worked for Creme de La Mer in NYC and I think the Oil absorbing lotion would work, also the Moisturizing Lotion would work much better than the actual "creme". The cream is really quite heavy, I used it when I lived in NYC but only during the dry winter months. Now that I live in South Florida I only use it around my eyes at night (I got a nice discount while working for them and still have plenty left). Yes, some people think it's the end all and be all of beauty creams, and for some people it happens to work really quite well on their skin. But really after I worked for the company for a little while I realized that there are inexpensive moisturizers out there that will work quite well. I think it comes down to taking care of your skin on a basic level first (cleansing, exfoliating) and lots of sun prevention. Obviously it's up to you if you still want to try it, but I just wanted to give you a really honest answer before you spent the money on it. Although if you can afford it, then why not try it... 
I just used to feel a little bad sometimes when super old ladies would come in and buy jars and jars of it thinking it was actually helping their wrinkles! lol |

Oh really?....
I have acne prone dehydrated skin, and the creme is much better than the lotion. but that's just personal opinion. Either way, i didnt think CDLM worth that price tag. |

| I tried both the cream & lotion but neither worked for my skin. I definitely recommend trying to get a sample first, seeing as the products are so $$$. |

| Agree, try their sample first. Nothing miracle to me, I prefer Valmont's Regentic more. |

Thank you so much for letting us know there are better products & inexpensive stuff out there that can work quite well too. I used to think that Creme de La Mer is a miracle product, hence the price.  |

| I tried the samples and for me even with dehydrated skin it broke me out but my friend loves the cream (dry skin) lotion would be better for oily skin |

I have oily skin and tried La Mer- it is the greasiest cream and most overpriced I have ever tried, and on top of that it's not even organic or natural. Stick to gels- Herbal Recovery from Jurlique, or Juice Beauy green peel antioxidant serum. Alphaderma skin prepp is good too.

| I loved Crème de la Mer for my dry, dehydrated skin, but agree with everyone else that I think it would probably be the wrong product for you - far too heavy. |

Creme de la Mer, including the DIY kit over at skinactives.com would be a major problem for someone with oily skin!
Like everyone else, I tried Creme de la Mer back when the hype first started. Forget the Creme - I looked like a walking oil slick!!! I tried the Oil Absorbing Lotion and it was a very nice product, but no nicer than about a gazillion other moisturizers, including Neutrogena.
Save your money. There are alot of other products out there that are far more effective. |

| I"ve used Creme De La Mer. I like it, but it may be too rich for oily/acne prone skin. It doesnt really make me break out, but i have dry skin. I only use this in the winter when my skin is dry, in the summer, it is too greasy for my skin. |

Oooh do you mind if I hijack this thread briefly to ask about another creme de la mer product?
I have skin thats prone to spots but also normal/dry patch occaisionally too (medication, pah!)
Everything I've heard about the face cream suggests its far too oily for skin prone to spots, but has anyone tried the serum? I've been hoping it would have the healing/regenerating results of he cream, but without the greasyness. |

Sheens,
The serum is not very moisturizing unless you are in a humid area. I used to use serum by itself during the summer humid days, but needed to use the regular or oil absorbing lotion when there was less water in the air. |

We actually find that the Sea kelp in the creme kit has a drying action that works well for oily skin, the more sea kelp you use in the cream mix the more drying it gets.
We tend to recommend alternate products for users with oilier skins. |

| I found the cream quite gentle - at that time it was the only thing that kept my skin hydrated yet did not break me out during winters. It served it's purpose as a moisuturiser but didn't perform any "miracles". |

I found that the more SKB one used just made the product roll off the skin. It is uncomfortable, to have balls of the SAS generic LaMer , peel and roll off your face. Especially if you are out in public. |

| I have been using la mer moisturizing lotion from time to time and it works great for me. I tried the cream too. But it's too heavy. I have normal skin, a bit oily at T-zone in the summer. |

I'm ordering some creme de la mer tomorrow and I have acne prone oily skin. I'll let you know how it works out. Seems like one of those products I'll always wonder about if I don't try it myself  . |

| I totally agree with most people's advice about trying a sample first. My sister and I both purchased the cream and it caused breakouts for both of us. I'm in my late 20s so I think it may be too rich for your skin. But try a sample, it may be great for you. |
