ladies, do you have any good eye cream/gel to recommend?
i'm currecnty using avene eye cream which will be running out soon, nothing really great for fine lines and dark circles, but simply keep the eye area moisturized only. So i'm thinking of switching to another brand. I hope something can help to diminish fine lines (but not too rich).... as i look at the computer screen everyday at work, i notice that more and more lines are cracking.... |

I really like the Cellcosmet Eye Contour Cream, Murad Essential-C SPF15 and Babor Sensational Eyes (this one is a bit richer so I'm not sure if that would suit you). There's been some good reviews of the Phytomer Lift Contour as well.
Do you spend much time in the sun? If you do then I would suggest getting a cream with SPF or using sunblock over your eye cream as well.

ps. I spend entire days looking at the monitor so I sympathise There are monitor filters that you can get to reduce the glare and make it easier on the eyes (thus hopefully reducing squinting etc) |

Hello,
I read this thread and decided to jump in and ask my question to Mabsy as from the threads I have read in this forum you are very knowledgeable. Hi Mabsy!
I have sensitive and combination skin (oily t-zone including eyes/dry everything else) and cannot wear any products that contain SPF (or fragrance) in it. I need to put the SPF on separately.
I would like a light eye gel and saw on EDS there are 2 kinds from Cellcosmet:
Cellcosmet Eye Contour Gel-XT Phyto-Gel
Cellcosmet Ultra Eye Complex-XT Cyto-Complex Gel
Which would you recommend for my skin type or is there another eye gel/cream that you would recommend that isn't too rich.
Thank you in advance! |

I don't know about knowledgeable - addicted is more like it
I have not tried the Cellcosmet Eye Contour Gel-XT Phyto-Gel so I'm not going to be much help to you unfortunately I do have the Ultra Eye Complex and I don't think that it is particularily rich at all - so that might be a good option. Littlebelle has tried (and is using) both of the eye gels so she might be able to shed some light on this for you
In terms of other eye gels or creams I remember Orlane B-21 Oligo Cooling Eye Balm getting a good review and it sounded like a light cream/gel formulation. It's also made for sensitive skins. Orlane products are often fragranced though. I'm not sure if this particular one is but Thoughtcrime will know ( I'm just dobbing people in all over the place today...). Another one that might be worth trying is Decleor Harmonie Soothing Eye Contour Gel. Again, this will be fragranced but it should be from the natural ingredients not from added fragrances.
Since you do have a difficult time finding a suitable product for the eye area I suggest that you get some samples first. Perhaps call up the spa and see what the ladies recommend?
Btw, I have an eye gel that I really like but I don't think you can actually get it outside Australia. It's called "Rosewater Eye Gel" and it's by a company called Perfect Potion. Sorry, I know that doesn't help much.

Yes, I need a different product for each of my eyes, also explains why it takes me forever to fall asleep How many eyes did Argus have? (my brain has managed to repress whatever mythology I have learned ).

Hi Mabsy,
I currently use Peter Thomas Roth Power K Rescue for my under eye circles. I've been using it for about a month. I heard from the forums that it takes a while to notice a difference. Because it's not that moisturizing, I use the Dermalogica multivitiam power firm on top of the PTR Power K so my concealer doesn't look so dry. It's not ideal.
I was wondering what you think about using the PTR Power K during the night and the Murad Essential C during the day? Will that deter the effectiveness of the PTR eye cream? I want so desperately to get rid of my dark circles. |

Wow thanks Mabsy
very informative! Still deciding which one should I pick...
Hey talking about for Perfect Potion, just FYI only, they have websitewww.perfection.co.au for online purchase but only ship to places without retail outlet in that country. I got to know about this brand when I was in Hong Kong. The "Rosewater Eye Gel" I tried before didn't help me much. But should be good for young and normal skin.
Just curious abt the "mixing method" of applying different products that smash-box mentioned... is it fine to do that? It may be quite scary to see some unfavourable chemical reaction occur in the eye area... |

Thank you, Mabsy
Addicted? No worries, I've had an obsession with skincare since high school.
I this forum as it's providing me with a lot of information and insight on all the different products available out there.
Thanks for the suggestion, I will give the spa a call and speak to them about which eye gel would be suitable for me.
Saks Fifth Avenue sells Orlane products so I will stop by on my lunch break to obtain some samples of the eye balm and give that a try too. |

Smash-box - how are you finding the PTR Eye Rescue in terms of effectiveness? I know it's not exactly the most moisturising of creams. I use the Murad Essential C during the day because I really think that sunblock is important. However, if you start using the PTR once a day then it might take a while longer to get any good results out of it. Personally, I would either dab some cream over the PTR (if the combination is not too rich) or just go with using the PTR once daily and be happy about the fact that even though I might have my dark circles for longer at least I won't be getting wrinkles around my eyes from the sun
Sab - Wow, just proves that you learn something new everyday! I didn't realise that Perfect Potion was sold anywhere outside Australia! I agree with your assessment of the gel though, it's probably not for someone who is trying to plump up the area, minimize appearance of lines etc. It's worked wonders for me though when I had eczema under my eye! I just thought I'd mention it to WhiteLotus because she said she had oily skin around the eye area so she only needs something light. About the mixing of products, I have never had a problem (and I mix products a lot as you can gather ). However, in my view, this would depend on the person's skin type and also on the two products you're mixing. There are some combinations you shouldn't mix but these are the products that contain the more "hard core" ingredients like RetinA and AHAs etc.
WhiteLotus - you're most welcome. I envy you for being able to just pop into Saks 5thAv after work. The only thing I can do is drool over their website |

sab: The Perfect Potion website link keeps giving me an error message. Is it just me?
I will definitely let you know how the Orlane eye balm works for me.
This forum is becoming addictive, my "must-try/must-have" list has grown tremendously since I discovered it.

sab - Thank you! That did the trick. No worries. I've fat-fingered the keyboard many times myself. Especially, when trying to multi-task. Obviously, not good at that.
Mabsy: I might understand no SaksFifth down under, because it's a U.S. company, but....NO Sephora either! I thought they were everwhere.
I am going to write to Sephora to open one up in Australia. |

I'm really liking the new Decleor Hydra-Floral Eye Contour Gel-Cream. Light, not greasy, and doesn't cause make-up slippage. |

WhiteLotus - my credit card would rather you didn't! I think the problem is that we don't really have the population to make it worth their while. I mean, 19Mil people stread over a huge mass of land Besides, I'm guessing that even if they did open one up it would by in Syd on Melbourne |
