Hi
I'm just coming to the end of my Bare Minerals Rare Minerals and I love it.
I'm in the UK and to my knowledge it's not out over here, so I only bought it after reading reviews on here about it. At first I was skeptical about putting a powder on my face to go to bed but I bought some last time I was in the USA, I think it was $60. It seemed to instantly make a difference to my skin, I bought the clear one, I don't really know why anyone would want a tinted one to wear to bed. Anyway, the next morning, my skin looked so much better, clearer and with less red marks. In fact I actually went to breakfast in the hotel I was staying at in America with no makeup on ..... gasp!! Now, anyone that knows me, would tell you that I don't even open the front door to the postman in the morning without my full slap on, so for me to go NEKED to breakfast, it had to be good! Oh... that's facially neked by the way, not clothes-wise, now that would be worrying!
The minerals seem to have illuminating powder in them, because if you apply too much (like I frequently do), then you can see the particles shimmering on your skin. I don't always remember to use it as I like to put on moisturiser at night and it seems odd to apply mineral powder over the top and it also bungs up the sponge on the applicator although you can take it off to wash it. It's great to use if you're just getting some spots, it seems to zap them away over night.
I will definitely be buying some more. 9/10
Would be interested to know others views on the Rare Minerals. |

I tried a sample size on this in the transparent (colorless) one. It did really seem to help individual blemishes heal, and you just reminded me that I have some left to play with. I only tried it full-faced for a few nights and grew bored with it, so I moved on to something else. I honestly don't think that my sample size gave enough product to adequately test this out, so I may purchase full-sized in the future. I do know that it did not cause any adverse effects on my skin.
I am glad that it has worked for you

I bought the full size of the transparent Rare Minerals a while back and am still undecided whether I like this product or not. The downside is firstly the applicator, it's not that easy to use and it's hard to clean the sponge, so I ended up pouring the powder into another container and using a brush to apply it with which worked much better for me. It also made the product last longer than it would have when using the sponge applicator. Also the colour looked awful on me. I had the transparent one which I assumed would be similar to the Jurlique Silk Powder and leave no colour on my face, but the RareMinerals left me with ann orange tint. It has sparkly gold flecks in, which didn't look that great on my skin.
So although it didn't make me look any better when I went to bed, the positives were, as mentioned that my skin did look significantly better in the morning. It seemed to help reduce any redness I had and I had no new breakouts whilst using the product. I think the fact that it made me look pretty awful when I went to bed put me off using it more, which of course shouldn't have. |

The transparent shouldn't leave you with an orange color or have sparkles in it. I would return it...did someone tamper with it? |

The clear one didn't leave me orange, but like my first post says it did have illuminating particles in. Mine was bought from a shop and was sealed. |

I will never go back to another foundation! I purchased the starter kit, which I think is a pretty good deal.

Mine was bought from a shop and was sealed too. It definitely had a lot of illuminating particles in it like Sarahb said, too much for my liking. I think I was just surprised as I assumed the transparant colour stated wouldn't be noticeable on my skin at all. |

I think you're only supposed to put on a small amount, but maybe because it's clear you don't think there's anything on and I tend to plaster it on. I can't understand why there are tinted ones though, if you only wear it in bed then it will all end up on your pillow. |

I tried it when it first came out but wasnt really overwhelmed by it. My skin looked no better, nor worse so didnt bother buying a full size. |

You know, this is one of those products for me that I am still on the fence about. Sometimes I swing to the "this definitely works" camp and sometimes I think it's all a load of ......! My skin does look better in the morning when I use this but not consistently so. My sleep patterns are so all over the place though that I wonder whether it looks better some days because of the product or because of more sleep. Or, the other way around, whether it doesn't look better sometimes because I get so little sleep that nothing would make it look better. So. for me, the full effects of this product I think are still yet to be determined. Like you though, I hate the sponge applicator - it's very wasteful! |

I'm so curious about this product. I just can't get myself to buy it though, the idea of putting a powder on my face before going to bed seems so odd to me. I need to find a sample... |

Read the reviews on Makeupalley. You either love it or hate it.
Me? I hated it. Tried it several ways and returned after 2 weeks ... with zits all over my face, huge pores, dry skin ... bleh. |

Bare Minerals was okay... the only problem that stopped me from using it was the BO.. |

I use it / like it. Lately I've not used it because I can't figure out where to put it in my nightly routine that includes glycolic gel and SKB.
Before? After? Dunno.
So now I kinda mix it up at night. Some nights RM, some nights the gels.
The RM doews nourish and make my skin look healthier, clearer and brighter.
I apply it with a brush. |

am about ready to buy this now that EDS sells it...but am thinking of the tinted...I like the idea of going to bed looking fabulous but does the clear actually have any concealing power? is it lightly tinted?
do you use a moisturiser over or under? or at all? |

I did write to them asking and this was the repky (informative but didnt really answer my question)
Thank you for contacting Bare Escentuals regarding RareMinerals, a breakthrough in natural skincare. We want to encourage you to “wake up with the skin you were born with”. Our patent-pending RareMinerals Skin Revival Treatment is the first ever nighttime treatment from Bare Escentuals that combines organic agriculture with life science and modern technology to deliver firmer, smoother, brighter, and more luminous skin while you sleep.
Due to the newness of RareMinerals, below are some of the most frequently asked questions. Please continue to read on to find out more about this amazing new skin revival treatment!
Can you use RareMinerals with other skin care products?
You can use RareMinerals alone or with your existing skincare regimen. Regardless of whether you use md formulations or another brand of skincare products, you can combine it with RareMinerals. RareMinerals will only improve the performance of what you are currently using. If you are at all concerned about potential reactions, particularly with prescription products, please consult your doctor.
Why do the RareMinerals come in different colors?
RareMinerals infuses a healthy finish to the skin, so we created four shades in clear, light, medium, and tan to perfectly complement all skin tones. We’re adding “beauty” to bedtime.
The Light, Medium and Tan shades complement your skin tone and even out your complexion by diminishing any surface redness or discoloration. Most skin tones can wear Clear, though women of color, particularly those with deeper skin tones, may prefer Tan.
This should help you Decide which shade is right for you:
• Light (For fair-to-light skin tones)
• Medium (For medium-to-tan skin tones)
• Tan (For tan-to-deep skin tones)
Will RareMinerals leave a residue on my pillow?
RareMinerals is absorbed deep within the skin to provide continual exfoliation and increase cell turnover, helping to promote anti-aging, reduce hyper-pigmentation, and reduce pore size. Because RareMinerals is in loose mineral form and binds with your skin, it should not leave any residue on your pillow.
Can RareMinerals be worn during the day?
While RareMinerals was originally designed as a nighttime treatment, it will not cause any harm if used during the day. Please note, however, that RareMinerals does not contain an SPF sunscreen. Please use your bareMinerals SPF15 Foundation or a separate sunscreen with the RareMinerals Treatment in order to protect your skin against UVA and UVB rays during the day. |

Hi
I'm still using it and I apply all my other things first and then the minerals on top as the last thing. As to getting a tinted one, why would you want tinted at bedtime? It would probably rub off on to your pillow and the natural one has a slight colour/sheen to it anyway. |

I used the tinted one and had no problem with my pillow.
It was great getting ready for bed, and still looking really good.. and of course, you still look good in the morning!

My cousin is using this and it is doing wonders for her skin!! I'd try it. What are the ingrediants. I have sensitive skin, so I'm really cautious about what I put on. |
