Are there any retinols that are plant sourced? Or are they all derived from animals? I'm looking for a non-animal vitamin A derivative, hopefully in bulk as a single active.
However, none of them ever say what they are from. Is retinol the best active to reverse sun damage? |

This is a late reply as I have been away on holidays but in answer to your question, I have read info that pure rosehip oil can also be used as an alternative to retinol.
You may be interested to read this on the Kosmea site:

Thanks bushy. I'm just now seeing that there was a reply to this. I have read about Rose Hip Oil as an alternative, but I have also read on here from others that it is not as potent. It also breaks me out sometimes.
Does anyone else know if most retinols are synthetic? |

I'm guessing retinol is synthetic, since it's a vitamin A derivative. You can try natural products with whole vitamin A in it, but they won't be as potent, I would imagine. |

Thanks. I'm not actually looking for natural, just vegetarian. What the vitamin A was originally derived from. |

It appears no plant based A. This was 1 of the links I found, didn't get the whole article though.
