So because you gals have brought out the shopper in me (as if it took that much Wink), I went over to Barney's to "check a few products out".
I clicked on cosmetics and this is the first product I see:
Serge Lutens Blusher $160.00!!!
It's not even in a gold or silver case. It looks plastic Shock
It does have something called "Nano Technology" (translation: small particles!!!). And to top it off, it only comes in one color!
Okay, end of rant. Just had to share.

Plain old plastic case Confused...

Joani,
Did you try it? What color is this "one color fits all cheeks", Laughing You owe it to the rest of us to experiment for us and kill any lemmings.
Surprised Anyway, I did hear that his mascara didn't get good reviews and it was also expensive, although not like the blush!

The color is called terracotta brown...how original Bad Grin You think for that price, he could come up with a creative name!
The refill of the blush is $70.00!
His eyeshadow palette (4 colors, also "browns") is $150.00!
Here is the link:

omg that is so rediculous. I guess if you have the money to waste they can put a price tag on pretty much anything. The make up doesnt look anything special, for that price i'm expecting some special make-up/face lift/botox all in one.
Ok, so the blush refill's are $70, while the blush with it's plastic case and mirror costs $160, so the cheap plastic case costs as much as the blush. Hmm...

It looks like a peachy color on the screen and does seem like it would suit most skintones, however it doesn't looks very special to be worth the price. And the compact looks sort of big and bulky for travel.

I'll take two thanks! Rolling Eyes

That is truly amazing.... Has anybody tried it? I wonder if they have a tester of it out on the counter? Laughing

It better have some sort of magic texture and shade that adapts to everyone's skin and tone.

luxury girl to the rescue! the more expensive, the more irresistable! Laughing seriously, if they have a tester, i will try it out.

Serge Lutens actually makes gorgeous perfumes, very true, very lasting. i have some that i use for very special occasions. very pricey but they don't go bad.

this blusher is so outrageously priced, though, that it kind of has me intrigued.... Laughing if i love it, would i have to get my face insured???

Ooo, let us know please Very Happy

You know, I think I may have a double standard maybe when it comes to perfumes and makeup. I do have two Serge Lutens perfumes and I agree that they are pricey. I had no problem buying them and had no problem buying Luctor Et Emergo, but $160 for blush seems ridiculous to me.... hmm

double standard, i agree! and yet what do we wear every day (not that we don't do perfume, but that's usually depending on mood, etc.)??? still, this is sooooooooo outrageous!

you've got the perfect tester in me, BTW. every bronzer turns garrishly orange on me. my face should kill any closet lemming immediately Bad Grin

Hmmm, I wonder if the makeup products contain any of his fragrance? Maybe this could account for SOME of the ridiculously high price. Why is it that when something costs so much, we're even tempted??? Could it be the expectation of a magical transformation???

Even though I seem to be on the eternal hunt for the perfect blush, "terra cotta" is a turn-off so luckily I'll be able to avoid temptation. Unless la vie tells us it IS magic.

Oh, I sooo wish I lived near a Barney's! Do you think they keep the testers behind glass Question Exclamation

I would ask to have a complete makeover with the foundation, blush, eyeshadow, lipstick, the works!

I know what you all mean about spending money on perfume, but perfume is actually expensive to make, but blush Exclamation

And if the blush has his fragrance in it does that mean we should wear it behind our ears? Wink Laughing

I think that if you buy the whole set, it comes with your own personal makeup artist.
