Does anyone have a solution for this? I'm only 30 and this is so embarassing, especially when I eat. All these DEEP pitted grooves/dimples in my chin show up when I try to chew my food, or press my lips together. It's very obvious.
I don't know if this is due to aging or due to electrolysis on my chin? I mean, I always remember having the tiny grooves, but now, they are incredibly deep and noticable. Maybe the electrolysis caused some additional damage?
(I could include a picture if this helps).
I was told that Botox injections into the chin might help, but at $350-400 a pop, I can not afford this forever...
Can any product help?? Plastic surgery?? Anyone else ever had this problem? Any advice?
Thank you,
Jen |

Do you mean like enlarged pores? I've never heard of botox for that, but that could be a new use. |

No, not enlarged pores. Looks like dimples and bumps! |

This isn't about your skin -- it's about how your muscles contract. It happens to me (and many others) right before I cry.
Don't worry about it. It's not a big deal. No one is thinking about it but you.
When I smile, I get a horizontal line under my nose. No big deal. Once someone mentioned it to me. And once I saw on a daytime talk show a woman who was obsessed with the horizontal line she got when she smiled. OBSESSED.
"Good grief, I thought. "Get a real problem."
It's an idiosincracy. (Which looks very spelled wrong to me.) Not a terrible thing. A fun personal characteristic. Nothing that requires treatment. |

my chin gets totally rumply and weird and when I smile or cry, and always shows up in pictures when I am smiling really big. Yours might not be any worse, it could just be what I call the fixation of the moment. I can look at all these body parts I used to fixate on now and they don't seem that bad at all, but I remember going through phases where I felt like all anyone would ever see when looking at me was my ears, wonky hairline, whatever. Hopefully it will pass. |

I'm not sure if it's referring to the same problem you are having, but this thread was informative:
"bumpy skin....again":
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=20761&highlight=bumpy+skin+again
I have the same thing (popply skin you describe) around my chin area, and it seems to come and go. In fact, my husband commented on how "bad" it looked as recently as last night. Argh! So of course i went searching on EDS, and came accross this thread here.
I have had experience with this before, and coincidentally, the area around my chin is the spot where I break out, mostly hormone-related. It is also the same area where I will have a reaction to a product, so I call it my "sensitive skin area". My conclusion on my own popply skin (I'm not sure how this applies to you all, but it may help?) is that in recent weeks, I have been too agressive with my skin care and need to tone it down a little.
So, since yesterday, i ditched the retinoids and acids entirely (no vit C, no retinol like in my tinted moisturizer, i won't do a Green Apple Peel for a while, no homemade DHCC which contains lactic acid, etc.), and instead I have stuck with simple emu oil, and I already see a difference.
For me personally, i need to take a gentler approach once in a while, and my skin kindly reminds me to do this on its own! And i must say, the "reminder" it gives me is ugly and I hate it. It's what I call "the uglies!"
