I found a couple of studies/articles stating that pre-emulsification increases absorption of omega 3 fatty acids up to 60%

Emulsification of omega-3 fatty acids may boost bioavailability of nutritionally beneficial eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) by over 60 per cent, compared to non-emulsified oil, suggests new research. |
So what can I take to emulsify my omega 3 supplements? I heard lecithin does a good job as an emulsifier
A naturally emulsified product says,

"Twinlab Emulsified Omega-3 Fish Oil is emulsified with natural lecithin and apple pectin making the Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA more readily available to the digestive system for superior absorption, assimilation and utilization." |
So if I take lecithin, will it absorb better? And should I take it together, or way before taking omega 3? |

Interesting. I would like to know too.
But, What made you think you are not absorbing omega-3 well? |

I know I am absorbing it very well, but if it can be increased by up to 60%, it means that naturally a lot of it's going to waste. Also, if I can speed up the utilization of omega 3, it would make it more efficient, hence not taking as much of it to get a similar result obtained at greater quantities =).
I hope that made sense, plus it's so amazing hearing about how you can make it even more efficient, like modifying a civic and getting an F1 car! hehe. |
