Hi guys!
I'm just wondering if anyone has tried pressing MMU eyeshadows or blushes. I haven't had any problems with MMU blushes, but with eyeshadows I've had problems getting them to stay on my eyelids as well as them spilling all over my sink  I'm wondering if pressing them will make it easier to apply and give a more staying power. For those of you who have, how did you do it?

I haven't pressed MMU but I have a lot of pressed pigments from MAC and imo the staying power is the same regardless of the pressing (it's just more convenient than having jars of pigments sitting around as I put them all in a MAC 15 pan palette). To my knowledge pressing uses mainly isopropyl alcohol so I'm not sure whether that would help increasing a pigment's staying power. A pressed pigment is also much softer than a regular e/s so when you use your e/s brush on it the part you touched will turn back into loose pigment ever so slightly.
Have you tried using a primer like urban decay primer potion? I have no problem with e/s staying put but EVERY single e/s creases on me, some more so than others and I find UDPP really stops that from happening. |

Thanks sormuimui. I haven't tried UDPP as I can't get it here. I've tried using a makeup primer on my eyelids but that didn't help either. And yes, they do crease on me as well. I'm interested in pressing so that it's easier to use and keep as well. How did you press your MAC pigments? I imagine it should work with MMU as well. |

Here is a pretty good pressing pigment tutorial, you can find a lot of info if you search through MUA's notepads:

They all base their tutorials on MAC pigments, usually they only need the alcohol but MMU might require a mixing medium (MAC makes one but only available at PRO stores).
Most primers don't work, UDPP is by far the best imo. The second choice might be MAC paints but they do crease on me after a long day as well. Perhaps a US member could help u CP a UDPP, I got mine in SF international airport.

Thanks for the link. I'll give it a try with my Alima eyeshadows. I'll try ordering UDPP from an import shop here in Bangkok. |
