I am beginning to see some signs of aging around my eyes and forehead. I have always had a problem with under-eye puffiness - whether I get 5 or 9 hours of sleep.
I began using a serum at night and now my skin is so oily during the day with huge pores on my cheeks- never had this problem before!
I am looking for some suggestions for a skin care program to:
1. Reduce Under Eye puffiness
2. Minimize lines around eyes and forehead
3. Reduce pores and occassional zits
Any and all suggestions would be appreciated!
I am truly a "rookie" at this - having neglected my skin for so long and waited until 35 years old to start taking better care of it!!!!
By the way.... I can not any oral supplements due to a chronic kidney stone issue! |

I would suggest a BHA or AHA (or both) to help keep your pores clear and a zit spot treatment.
Yeah yeah...everyone reading this knows what I'm going to say next...
www.ifeelprettyproducts.com
The exfoliants are chemical and fabulous...the healing serum will help clear up blemishes.
If you are normally oily and need control you can try Decleor Ylang Ylang oil everyday to balance out oil production. It takes a few months to start working, but it worked for me. Been using it since July!
If you are 35 and JUST seeing the signs of aging that's pretty spectacular! Some of us see it much much much earlier |

Very hard to make recommendations without knowing your skin type, whether you have sensitive skin, etc. etc. |

I would also suggest a prescription retinoid whether it be tazorac, retina-A, or Renova. If you'd like to go over the counter PSF has a product with retinol in it. |

Michelle, I'm kinda like you. I neglected my skin until 32, and only now at 38, I'm much more serious about it since I found EDS. I have learned a lot, but still have not found "The ONE". I have a feeling you'll be as confused as me b/c there're so many products to try. I suggest trying different things but buy the samples, so you won't go broke too soon. Even samples can get expensive. I just received I Feel Pretty stuff to try, and cannot wait but remember that one product that works for someone may not work for you. Try not to try more than one product at the same time, so you know which one your skin doesn't like. Wait two weeks before trying another product. |

thanks so much for the suggestions!
I do not have sensitive skin - my skin is fairly normal with an occassional pimple around my period.
I am fair skinned with freckles and have been very good about using sunscreen due to my tendency to burn.
I am just so surprised by the amount of fine lines and wrinkles popping up at 35 years old!!!!! |

Hi Michelle!
I also have sensitive skin and I have had much luck with Ice Elements.
One of the things that drew me to the line is that it is aloe based and I have always loved the healing properties of aloe... and the simplicity and effectiveness of the line have kept me there.
This month they have free shipping from their site directly at http://iceelements.com so if you decide to check out the site and it interests you, you will be able to save some $$.
What I would suggest is to take a look at the site and then if it appeals to you to go over to the message board and speak with either Shelly (the president) or Brenda (the esthetician) to see what either would recommend. Be very specific about your needs and describe your skin so that they can help you... or give them a call on their 866 number listed on the site - this will bring you to Shelly directly.
You will most likely get at least a few more responses with other peoples favorite lines and more than one may appeal to you... so I would suggest that when getting started to start slowly, one or two products at a time, and give them some time to work so that if you happen to have any reactions or improvements that you will know where they are coming from.
The basic rule of thumb for trying out a product (unless you have an adverse reaction) is to use it for a full 30 days to allow your skin to go through a full cycle. While some products will take less time to show results and others may take a longer period of time, with most you will see something within the 30 day period.
Sometimes the change is less apparent for some than others... and as only you know what you are looking for, taking a couple of before photos for comparison may be helpful to you.
Another thing to consider is how much time you are realistically wanting to spend. While some women religiously use several products morning and night others find this tedious and end up stopping all together... if this is you, you will want to find a line (or a product mix) that is simple, yet effective. Then later if you want to add more you always can.
Good luck!

Ice Elements has a wonderful Acne Serum in a stopper bottle. It's become my favorite product. |

Things deteriorate fast after you turn 30, and esp after 35. So it's a good thing you're starting to take serious care of your skin now. I wish I started at 35 instead of 38. Well, it's not too late. I just tried I Feel Pretty products, and wow, my skin looked great. I took pics today, and will be taking more to see if it will look even better or not. |

I know what you mean. I always thought they'd start coming in slooowlly. Well, it didn't happen that way for me either. The best thing you can do is slow theme down with skincare. I've started using the Super GHK Serum from Skin Biology. I've only used it for little over a week, but so far, I like it. It dimishes the lines. I think they're still giving samples with orders. |
