For me, it's My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion, and Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler.
Your turn! |

Whenever I hear the song "You are so beautiful to me" I get tears in my eyes. But not because I think of it as a love song, but because it reminds me of that commercial they played a few years back. The one where they showed pictures of laughing people and then the glass would crack because those people had been killed in drinking and driving accidents. And all to the song "You are so beautiful to me". Very sad, especially when his voice cracks at the end |

I don't really think this is a love song but Jimmy Ruffin 'what becomes of the broken hearted' does it for me. I also have a special spot in my heart for Janet Jacksons 'together again' because it reminds me of a very special little boy that I love & miss.
Awww shucks ya made me get all maudlin. |

"I Loved her First" by Heartland. And my dad used to sing "Moon River" to me as a little child and young woman. Now that he is gone, I can barely listen to it. |

Before I even opened this thread I was thinking of "My Heart Will Go On".
"The Dance" by Garth Brooks;
"Hold on to the Night" by Richard Marx.
"If You Get There Before I Do" - I don't know who sings it, but it is a country song and everytime I hear it - MAJOR waterworks!
There are many more - I am a total sap! |

Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler
I've seen "Beaches" about 8 times and still blubber like an idiot.

The one I can think of is "Goodbye My Lover" by James Blunt. It's a tear jerker. |

Not a love song.
Lullaby by Billy Joel
Now a love song
I Will Love You -- Fisher
It was my wedding song at my reception
"til my body is dust
til my soul is no more
I will love you, love you
til the sun starts to cry
And the moon turns to rust
I will love you, love you
Chorus:
But I need to know - will you stay for all
Time...forever and a day
Then I'll give my heart til the end of all
Time...forever and a day
Chorus
til the storms fill my eyes
And we touch the last time
I will love you, love you..."
Getting all teary as we speak. |

Louis Armstrong - What a wonderful world
I sob everytime I hear it, I've had to leave stores if they play it!
Not a love song BUT it's actually written into my will that's it to be played at my memorial. |

LOVE that song but only the Louis Armstrong version. I sometimes find myself humming it or "Danny Boy" when I'm feelin' blue (like today) or sometimes I just play one of my Celtic CDs. |

Yes, Wind Beneath My Wings is definitely one of them. BUT a song that isn't a love song that I ALWAYS end up crying through is "Wild Fire" by Michael Martin Murphey. I think it must have been popular in the mid 70's ... I was still very young. I remember back in the days when you would tape your favourite songs off the radio on those portable tape recorders ... my sisters would try to tape that song and if I was in the room at the time, there I would be ... sobbing in the background on tape. The lyrics to me are about this horse getting out in the middle of a storm, this person going after it and they are both lost in the storm, then the person singing the song hears this owl outside his window and knows he'll join them soon. Gosh, I am tearing up just writing about it! It's funny how some songs like that can trigger your emotions so strongly. |

I would have to second "My heart will go on". That was while watching Titanic. |
