Hi all!
After doing a thorough research, I've decided to give OBAGI a try. I've been using for just two weeks now. It is so different from other skincare products I've ever used. For example, I knew it would cuase flaky skin, but never thought it would be that "flaky" and etc.
Therefore, I decided to share my results, so anyone who is interested in OBAGI may have a look and take it for reference.
I'll try to update it on a weekly basis, but sometimes I do get very busy with my studies and probably won't be able to do so. I'm also glad to answer your questions if I can.
Ok..Let's start it! |

A brief introduction of my skin:
mid 20s, fair skin, combination type, currently live in LONDON.
Main concern:
Quite severe acne scars on both cheeks and forehead. Also minor sunspots or freckles (can't tell which one exactly it was) on cheekbones. |

Week 1 and 2
I started my OBAGI on March 5, and it is now March 18.
I actually got
Clear (3)
Exfor derm (4)
Blender (5)
Sunfader(6)
from OBAGI and use my own moisturizer and toner.
I use:
(3)Clear +L-Ascorbic Vit C Serum + Moisturizer+(4) ExfoDerm(once the other day) + (6)Sunfader in the morning.
(3)Clear+Moisturizer+(5)Blender+Tretinoin 1:1 in the evening.
For the first 2 days, i didn't experience any problems with my skin at all. It's just like normal. But from the 3rd day, it starts to get really really dry. As a result, I got up with very flaky skin in the morning!
I therefore changed my original moisturizer to a more hydrating one and kept on with my original routine.
The situation got even worse afterwards. My face felt very tight in the afternoon, and I couldn't use any foundation at all - all of them will cause little creases on my face!
I started using a hydrating mask every night, and it did help a lot more.
Generally speaking, my skin doesn't feel dry almost under any circumstances, even when I used Retinol products. But this time I got seriously flaky skin for nearly a whole week.
The situation seems to have improved recently. I don't need hydrating mask this weekend, as the skin seems to be more tolerent and doesn't need the extra help.
I haven't actually seen any improvements of my skin until now, apart from the torture. But the bright side is I got rid of some little spots with OBAGI!
Will continue using it, and will let you know how it goes!
HTH:) |

Hey thank you for your kindly reminding!
Do you or did you use OBAGI products? If so, how did it go?
I knew it may take very long to see the difference, and I'll try my best to be patient this time! ![Very Happy](images/smiles/biggrin.gif) |

No, I never tried this line but I am positive that I would have if Vivier was not shown to me. Instead, I use prescription to speed up my cellular turnover. My sebium always gets stuck and then I would get bad infected acne. Now, it is not as bad as it used to be. |

Oh yes, I forgot to mention it!
Yes, my face has become very reddish, especially on my cheekbone~
It did bother me coz it's an unhealthy red, and I can't use any blush either! |

Currently I'm using PSF 20% Vit C, which was recommended by ppl here.
I like the texture, not too oily. |

Ok i c. I think it's quite important to let the skin to turnover at a fairly fast pace. Otherwise, we'll get acnes! That's why Obagi included exfoderte in the system. |

Hi, I started the Obagi program 3,5 weeks ago. On day 3 and 4 I got very red too and uncomfortable. So then I found this tip on http://www.spectacularskin.com/forum/forum_entry.php?id=33369
Kiwi tells how she is using the Diaper Vitamin A&D creme with the Zinc in it right after she applied the tretinoin. I started doing that too, and it really helped.
In the morning under the shower I massage my face in circles, I can then feel the skin coming off. I use the Action on places where I am prone to peel, it keeps it in place.
The results for now are that my skincolor is very even, I got rid off sunspots I had. No improvement in wrinkles yet, it even seems to be worse. I hope that will get better:) |

I started using Obagi on 2/17. So far, I love the result I am seeing.
The funny thing is my result is the opposite of hkyarrington’s. 90% of the lines on my forehead is gone and the fine lines on my cheeks are barely noticeable. But the spot I have on my left cheek is still there. Hopefully, I will get rid of the spot soon. |

Hi All,
I have been using Obagi now for about 10-12 weeks. I peeled and flaked in the beginning and it subsided but found my skin was still quite soft and moisturized. Recently, over the past week or two I have noticed my skin becoming increasingly dry and still flaky, the little smile lines from my nose to my mouth just look magnified because of the dryness. I have ordered some Action and am going to try cutting it with Exfoderm, like they recommend. But was wondering if anyone else has some suggestions at this stage of the game. |

@elan, maybe you can try Atopalm MLE, I haven't used it myself (I use the A&D diapercream and I'm happy with that) but heard good things about it. |

Hi oh no, I don't think it is off topic, you want to deal with the dryness of the tretinoin, I didn't think Action really works very well for that anyway it does keep my peelies on my face in stead of coming off all the time;)
good luck!!! |

Thanks hkyarrington! Can I ask another question? What about wearing foundation while using Obagi - at first it was okay, it actually went on quite nice, but now - Ickypoo. I have stopped wearing foundation because it just exaggerates the dryness, but I suffer from acne scars and still uneven pigmentation and need something to even out my complexion. Would tinted moisturizer do the trick? Or I have heard about mineral make up. Would that stick to the dry spots? |

Hi, I haven't tried a tinted moisturizer yet. Mineral foundation works very well, you can mix it with your moisturizer and you will get a nice result, there are website like Alima, where you can buy lots of samples to find your shade. |

Do update whenever you get a chance. |

I'm over 7 weeks in treatment. My skin looks really good. I still use the A&D cream, I'm never red and in the morning I rub off my skin. A week ago I started scrubbing my face, I'm absolutely pleased with the results so far. My skintone is even, my wrinkles aree less and overall I look much better. |

i've been on Obagi for 3 weeks now and it was my understanding that your NOT suppose to use moisterizer with it and to expect your skin to peel as a side effect. do you think using moisterizer and hydrating peels may hinder the Obagi results? |

The Vitamin A&D cream is not a moisturizer, the ingredient is zinc, (zinc is the main ingredient in the obagi sunscreen too) which helps calming down irritated skin, the rest is still working |
