I really wanted to like the Weleda Wild Rose Deodorant, they make so many nice natural products. I ordered the small bottle fromwww.kathlina.com.
Cost:
USD8.99 for a 1oz bottle.
Ingredients:
Alcohol, Water (Aqua), Parfum (Fragrance)*, Limonene*, Linalool*, Citronellol*, Benzyl Alcohol*, Benzyl Benzoate*, Benzyl Salicylate*, Geraniol*, Citral*, Eugenol*, Farnesol*, Rosa Moschata Leaf Extract, Rosa Damascena Flower Extract, Glycerin, Ammonium Glycyrrhizate.
* from natural essential oils
This is not an anti-perspirant, it is a deodorant only.
Application Method:
I spritzed this on right after I got out of the shower.
Results:
Unfortunately I have to give the thumbs down to Weleda Wild Rose Deodorant. Firstly when you first spritz it on, it does not have a lovely rose scent. It smells dusty and old-lady-ish compared to pretty rose scents like Jurlique. Secondly and most important, it did not keep me smelling nice through the day. I live in a tropical, humid climate and am used to sweating all day - I have no problem with sweat but def have a problem with smelling bad, and I DID smell bad by the middle of the day after using Weleda Wild Rose. The Weleda might be OK for ladies who live in milder climates, but it can't stand up to the tropics.
The Crystal Rock that I normally use is much more effective, lasts all day. If you don't like rocks, I recommend Crystal Ally spray by Simply Divine Botanicals, it is effective all day and the Pink Grapefruit scent is wonderful. Again none of these are anti-perspirants, deodorant only. |

i have to agree with you 100%. i love all of Weleda's Rose line that i've tried (the smell is always divine) so this was a real disappointment. it just really didn't work so i wasn't even tempted to try another scent. i've found another natural product that i love and works to keep me non-stinky from Sanoflore. |

I third that. It's pretty disappointing. I normally use Secret Platinum and I occasionally use it on top these days. Don't waste your money on this. |

Agreed. You can really feel the alcohol. I bought the sage, too. Same conclusions. |

I actually don't mind the smell and no it doesn't last all day especially if it's warm and it's definitely not an anti-perspirant but this is the first 'natural' deodorant I've tried and so didn't expect it to measure up to products that contain chemicals to make it effective.
Are there any other natural deodorants available on EDS? |

thanks for the review smaris!
i'm in canada and most of the year it is pretty mild. hopefully this rose deodorant will hold up. i want to try some more natural products for the body, and something light as oppose to the the thick concoctions of anti perspirants. |

I use the Weleda Rose deoderant regularly and really like it. It definately is not on par with chemical deodorants which makes you not smell at all. I now feel like chemical deodorant feels like glue after using the Weleda deoderant for the last couple years.
I find the Weleda smell really fuses with your body and creates a nice natural, but not stifled smell. My boyfriend uses it and he smells great. I think it melds well with pheromones and softens BO without ridding you of human-ness. |

hi I am "butterfly rainbow's" aforementioned b.f. Listen, to be blunt, I am not a hippy and I am hairy. Which means, I need a good deodorant because I 'engage in normal social activities.' The Weleda deodorant is on one of my top ten household items. It ranks up there with Bob's Mill's oatmeal and Tom's of Maine toothpaste (maybe that defines my demographic). Point being, it is a rare time when I don't choose Weleda deodorant. |
