Like Ylang Ylang Decleor or Haushka's day oil for example --- I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on what type of skin responds best to these. In our family we have 3 T zone oil issues I would like to improve upon. We have one combination/congested/perimenopausal hormonal, one normal not oily pre-teen, tiny tight blackheads and one middle aged thicker skinned oily/large pores. I realize this is all pretty much trial and error but would love to hear your opinions on these oils. |

Hi,
I'm in my 40's and still have oily skin. I discovered by accident that essential oil of rosemary normalises both oily and dry skin. Just add a few drops to your usual night cream or toner. Some essential oils can make skin more prone to sunburn, so only use at night. I have found this made an enormous difference to the amount of oil my skin produces and made this summer much more pleasant. Added benefits - rosemary acts as an antioxidant and preservative for home made concoctions.
Do not use essential oil of rosemary if you have high blood pressure, epilepsy or are pregnant. |

I had great luck with the Dr. Hauschka oil when I stopped using BC and my skin went crazy and hormonal. It helped a lot on the oiliness from first application, and calmed down the breakouts.
Just wanted to add that Dr. hauschka may be too much for the pre teen skin. This oil can be drying. |

Just want to advise that you should be using Rosemary Verbenone in this case and NOT Rosemary Officinalis. Verbenone is best suited to skin care as other types of Rosemary are quite strong and can aggravate delicate facial skin. |

I have the Ylang Ylang by Decleor, the Niaouli by Darphin and the Lotus by Clarins and love them all (very oily skin). Money wise, the Lotus is the most economical. |

I had good results with the Decleor Ylang Ylang oil it terms of reducing oil & congestion etc, the Dr H was ok but not as good as the Decleor one. I have stopped using them since, as my skin is now almost completely dry. |
