Hi All
I really need help on my quest for an eyeliner that actually stays. I mean one that doesn't smudge so I don't look like "racoon" eyes in a couple of hours. I have tried just about every water proof eyeliner imaginable. One that somewhat lasts a little longer is Maybelline's waterproof liquid liner. However, it tends to flake off. Could I possibly have oily lids. I know two other people that have this same problem. Some I have tried: Lamcome, Clinique, Pur Minerals, MAC, Maybelline's waterproof pencil, Ulta, etc. They go on nicely, then in a couple of hours it is creeping into my lower lids. Now this is with lower lid application. Anyone out there that can help. I feel like I am literally on this quest for this longwear eyeliner. Thanks, |

Welcome to my world. ^^ I can't even wear pencil eyeliners, they smudge and creep away in as little as a half hour. Liquid liners last a bit longer but also run on me, esp on lower lids. ONE thing I found that helps is the Almay bright eyes "paint" eyeshadows - pick a light shade that will match your eye makeup, and use it as a base, even on lower lids. It's sheer so a coat or two won't be that bad if you have fairly light skin. On top of that, I can wear MAC's fluideline eyeliner (the stuff in the jar, it's like the BB gel eyeliner), and it helps with the smudging. Not 100% perfect, but good enough that I don't get racoon eyes. |

Try Blinc Kiss Me eyeliner. It is a liquid which goes on, stays put, and only comes off when you rub gently with warm water, just like its mascara counterpart. |

Perhaps you could try a primer under it like UDPP. It's supposed to make e/s stay put (and it DOES!) so it would probably work for e/l too. So you could try that with a good liner like MAC liquidlast or fluidline or any other suggestions. I'd recommend Bobbi brown but I find by the end of the day BB gel liners smudged a little EVEN ON ME and I don't even really have oily lids! |

I just got She-lac from Benefit and that seems to work pretty well. They have different brushes in there so you can set mascara, eyeliner, shadow, brows. I tear all the time in the winter so it does kind of get messed up on me in a wierd way, but not in the smudgy racoon way it usually does. |

Hi where can I get UDPP? Is it an acryonim for something. I am willing to try anything at this point. Oh I also one tried Smashbox Line Out I think it is called to make the liner waterproof, just made me tear like crazy. |

UDPP - Urban Decay Potion Primer, long thin genie-like purple tube. Can be bought at Sephora for about $14.
I also use Bobbi Brown eyeshadow as a liner, dipping a wet brush in (I use a MAC brush) and lining - seems to last most of the day. Also helps if I don't rub my yes (a nasty habit I have).

MAC's LiquidLast is pretty difficult to remove and most definitely, therefore, stays put! It's the longest-lasting, most smudge-proof liner I've ever used. |

I have VERY oily skin. So much so that I could NOT wear any liner without a primer. Smudge? Flake? Please. The oil would seep through the color and it would just disappear. Same with shadow.
My primer of choice is Mary Kay's Triple Action Eye Enhancer. LOVE this stuff. I tried MAC's eye primer and my shadow still creased. I was really disappointed and, if I hadn't thrown out my receipt, I would've returned or exchanged it.
**Which products did you try from MAC? The pencils? Instead try Fluidline, which should stay all day. In fact, it's a bit like paint. And, true to form, it must be applied with a brush. Bobbi Brown, as someone may've mentioned, also has a similar product.
**Speaking of piant, MAC Paints also don't budge. They are in tubes and, again, require a brush. They're actually not meant to be liners, but you could use them.
You might also try layering your liner with shadow. Line you eyes as usual. Then take a very thin angled brush, dampen it and dip it into a similar color of eye shadow. Just trace over your liner and that should help with the smudging. This also helps you "fill in" all the bare spots closest to your lashes where pencils sometimes skip.
Best, T. |

I got fed up with this problem, so I permanently tattooed my eyeliners. It hurt like heck, and now I can't ever get it off. Oh well.... |

Ouch! Don't know if I could do that. I did know someone who did that with her eyebrows. |

Hi I used MAC's Power Point pencil, which was recommended by someone I know. It goes on nice, however, does not last at al. It is supposed to be waterproof. That is the last one I tried, which I will be returning soon. |

I have this problem in a HUGE way, because of the shape of my eyes, every eyeliner has always "transferred" to my upper eyelid. I got BB gel liners, and those work great, but take time to apply.
I just discovered Revlon Colorstay Eyeliners, twist up format, and I have to say these are GREAT. They come in about 7 colors, they are cheap, and they WORK. Yes, sometimes a tiny bit will transfer by the middle of the day, but for the most part, they stay. And they are easy to apply, at least for me I find it much easier to use a pencil, than a brush. The best pencil liner I've found that doesn't smudge is Styli-style Line & Seal. It seriously stays put.
It works much better than mac's fluidline, BB gels, MakeUp Forever, and Revlon's Colorstay. All of which I've tried. |

Make up For Ever is good. I bought two of their eyeliners last weekend from Sephora. They were 16.50 each... not cheap ~ but it doesn't run or smudge. |

I second and third this! LiquidLast is different than Fluidline because it comes in a tube with its own brush, so it's less of a hassle. For me, this stuff only comes off with an oil based remover; I use pure jojoba oil. You have to be careful drawing a straight line, but you won't have to touch it up later in the day. |

I have the same problem with mascaras. I have tried benefit, Maybelline and Lancome, but none of them work for me. Frustrating!

Where do you get Styli-style? I don't think I've seen it anywhere around me (I'm in So. California)... or maybe I just didn't notice it. (I'm a pencil kinda gal too!) |

I use BB's eye gel and it would stay a whole day on my lids without smudging even I have a weep.
And I think if you put some loose powder on eyes before using eyeliner, it would stay longer too. |
