This is a very good article. Not only about the warm water after your meal, but about ladies and their heart attacks. A friend sent this to me.
This makes sense.... the Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals not cold water maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain.
For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.
Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.
Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
A serious note about heart attacks: Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.
60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.
Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive. |

Thanks for posting. I have never been a big fan with cold drinks during meals anyways but now I will definitely try to avoid it. |

Hi Doba, it's good to be aware of what happens when a heart/angina attack starts. I have angina, and my first attack started with a strange feeling coming over me, and it just seemed that my heart had stopped and I was struggling to get my breath for a minute or so. Then I got a numbness down my left arm and also up into my jaw, at no time was there any pain, although instinctively I knew it was my heart. I've had a few attacks since and had the same symptoms sometimes with a sickly fainting feeling, but never any real pain. |

Thanks for sharing - def. interesting.
When I was younger, I heard my parents tell me about the hot/warm drink after a meal, but never really took any heed to it. The explanation makes sense, but is there anything to substantiate? I know my in-laws ALWAYS drink soup after their meal, they also always force me to drink it!
When food moves in the stomach/intestines, it'll all be the same temperature/consistency anyway, right? Just thinkin' out loud. I'm not so sure about this.
Interesting about the heart attacks too - thanks |

Thanks for posting this. I don't mind a cup of tea now and then so I may have to make it an after dinner habit. |
