MMU Samples came--need a little guidance

Hi, I did a search but there is so much info out there....I think I just need a few tips to get going.

I got my Alima and UGloGirl MMU samples: foundation and bronzer from UGloGirl and foundation and concealer from Alima. I want to try one tomorrow for the first time. I don't have a foundation brush and the pots are very tiny--which is the best way to apply? I have a bronzer brush I just washed and I have those little makeup sponges. Should I just use my fingers?

Also, I have heard about misting--can I just mist with plain water after I apply the makeup?

Is it ok to apply MMU over Retin A Micro and emu oil?

Hi acnestatin-ruined,

Once you've mastered MMU ... you'll love it! Very Happy

Get yourself a small-ish bowl ... and tap a small amount of the MMU foundation into the bowl.

Now take your brush and swirl the brush in the MMU in the bowl.

Next you tap the brush on the side of the bowl to get excess off of the brush.

Using a very light hand, apply the foundation to your face. Too much and it will look "cakey" ... so use a very light hand. You can always apply a second or third thin layer ... but it's difficult to fix it when you've used too much.

You will use far less of the MMU foundation than you think.

Once you've finished with the foundation, pour what's left in the bowl back into the sample jar.

For the bronzer, tap a small amount into the bowl ... and follow the same swirl and tap technique ... then apply the bronzer to those areas that would be hit by the sun ... cheeks, tip of nose ... centre of chin etc.

There used to be a link to a great MMU tutorial somewhere on here ... but in a nutshell ... the above are the basics, albeit somewhat truncated.

Yes you can use misted water to "set" your MMU ... but that's a knack as well.

If you wait about 10 minutes after applying your MMU you'll see that your skin's natural oils will have helped to make the MMU look more natural.

Don't be discouraged if your first attempt doesn't please you ... it is a whole different sort of makeup ... and there is a learning curve.

Most people would say it isn't sensible to use Retin A Micro during the hours of daylight at all and especially without a good SS.
