I followed up on the IS Clinical rave in the product review forum but think this is a better place to ask my question. I have just started using IS Clinical and while I love it and the results have been quite quick and impressive, I am in the cold, dry mountains of Vermont and think I need a moisturizer in addition to the Hydracool. Question 1: Would I replace Hydracool with a moisturizer or add it on? Question2: Do I use a moisturizer after Hydracool and if so, any recommendations on a brand or type?
Any help you all can offer would be greatly appreciated, thanks! |

We have quite a lot of IS Clinical users here so hopefully bumping this will results in replies from those that use the line.
Hydracool is a Hyaluronic Acid (HA) & B5 serum. HA is used to draw moisture into the skin. As such it's in your interest to keep using this but add a moisturiser over the top. It's been a while since I've read up on HA but I recall that it sucks moisture into the skin from the surface of the skin. So, not using a moisturiser over a HA serum can make your skin look drier on the surface. Using a moisturiser gives the HA something to "feed" off and allows it to take that moisture deeper down.
What moisturiser do you usually use? I gather that your skin is not overly dry as you probably would not have been able to use just the Hydracool until now so my guess would be a light lotion might be enough. How would you classify your skin type? |

I would say that I have combo skin that gets drier in the winter and oilier in the summer, so since its winter my skin is a little drier meaning if I wash my face I have to put something on it pretty soon or else I get visible flakies. So I need something that goes on but also sinks in because I hate the feeling of something sitting on my face. I hope that helps and Mabsy I really appreciate your responding to this. I have been backcombing all previous posts trying to figure it out but haven't really gotten anywhere yet, so I really appreciate the help. |

I'm a complete ISC acolyte (as if that wasn't obvious). I've had samples of their moisturizer and, like their eye product, it's very nice, but very unremarkable.
I don't really need a moisturizer after the HydraCool. My sunscreen provides enough for me. But, I know that alot of ISC users DO need a moisturizer.
I was looking for the article that cites this, and when I do, I'll post it, but I recently read that HA draws its moisture NOT from the skin's surface, but from the deeper layers of the skin. I wonder if anyone else has seen similar data.
I've never liked the feel of the HydraCool, but the bottom line is that my skin looks better when I use it than when I don't. And, since it isn't as if I hate it, I keep it in my routine. I agree with Mabsy that a light moisturizing lotion over the HydraCool is a good idea. I don't think there's any need to spend a fortune on one either... |

I have oily skin and use both Hydra-Cool and moisturizing Complex. I think you definitely need to apply another moisturiser over Hydra-cool if your skin is not oily, so maybe you should go for the Moisturizing Complex. In my case Moisturizing Complex works better with Active than Hydra-Cool. |
