just got a link in an email from Lovely Skin- pills that support skin in the sun? what do y'all think?
what's in it? "polypodium leucotomus extract". Anybody know what this is? from the product description- it sounds like an antioxidant supplement.
I'm in favor of dietary supplements generally- but also often nervous about giving my liver more work to do. There is so much conflicting information out there about vitamins, etc.
Anyway- any input? |

It is a mixture of green tea and Beta-Carotene. I've been thinking of getting a bottle...both of those supplements do help with sun protection, but they do not take the place of sunscreen. |

Having had skin cancer at 26, I'm really into the sun protection issue. My dermatologist at UCLA is one of the top in the field & he has this product for sale. I'm using it with sunscreen hoping for extra protection. A bonus is it doesn't upset my stomach. |

green tea=good. beta carotene=good. dermatologist recommended=good. okay- this is promising. Thanks for the input, ladies! |

this product has intrigued me for some time - but I've yet to try it.
polypodium leucotomus is actually a fern.
this was discussed at one point at the skincareboard.
and a link to a cost effective alternative:
